It was our first and last time camping at this campground. It was basically an ATV "Free For All" where underage kids race their "Jacked Up" Golf Carts and ATV's throughout the entire campgrounds with loud obnoxious, and obscene so called music. It blew my mind that parents allow their kids to go out of control like this, but then again we also saw alot of the parents doing the same thing. Explains where the kids got their bad habits from. There are no fish left in the river and their are only a few birds flying around. Even the wildlife can't handle the environment. So, Basically it is an out of control campground where we felt like we were camping in the "Hood." It could be a nice experience if they banned recreational vehicles. If you like the "Hood" then this is the place for you, otherwise I would look for another campground. Good Luck!

If your thing is riding atvs or hiking the wilderness you will like this place if you don't like motor sports stay away. If you see a double golf cart with guy and his dog it is probably George the owner, if you flag him down for a chat be prepared for a long chat. We enjoyed our stay and will come back someday!

We drove to this campground to spend the afternoon with relatives who camped there. We were angered to find we had to pay $14 to enter and park at their camp site. The charge is $7 per person in a vehicle! Why? We parked on the campsite, not disturbing anyone else's right to a parking space. The only answer we came up with is: Pure, unadulterated GREED on the part of the owners.
Our relatives were not pleased with the constant vehicular noises as ATVs and scooters and golf carts traveled up and down the dirt roads and they won't return.

This place went from fun and good times to crap, the prices have gone way up and the friendly feel has gone. Most of the staff is good but some are just stupid, bathrooms are gross and showers aren't any better. It now costs $200.00 to camp for a weekend for a family of 4, add food and gas it's $300.00, not in this economy!

I have rented a site here, $4,100 a year plus your charge for arm bands. It seems that their only
goal is to make money, which is alright. But when we started to go there we paid $2,700 a year and
was allowed free arm bands. It seems they are the only one that allows atvs, so they kind of got you
if you want to ride. My experience with the owner (who thinks he is some kind of ruler or God)
treats people like they are scum. Case in point went to retreave a four wheeler with my husband
that wasn't runing ( it had sit for four months and old gas) . All of a sudden one of the workers hollered
got you! He blocked my car and yelled to another worker to pull behind her. The owner showed up
with two more guys on golf carts. One would think this was a large drug bust, the worker (Cal) said
I gave him the finger! I'm 68 years old and never gave anyone ever the finger. This quy was either
drinking or something. After I walked away and went back to my trailer there were two more golf carts
sitting at the camper and preceeded to be there watching us while Cal went into a makeshift tatoo
place (that the owner allows to rent a space) and get a tatoo. Don't subject your children to any
abuse at this park, be with them at all times. This is (not) a family park!

We started our camping experience in a tent with our kids and dog at Peace River Campground in 2000... Our first trip was ok but each successive trip there got worse. After a few bad experiences and upgrades to a pop-up then a travel trailer, we stopped going. Friends convinced us to try again in 2007 and it was the camping trip from hell... We made our reservations for a holiday weekend and we had a bad storm come through the area right before our trip. I called to make sure it wasn't flooded because we knew the roads were dirt and the sites were flat and I was told our sites were fine. Upon arriving, checking in and paying we discovered our site was waterlogged and our friend's site was under water.....We asked to be moved to dryer sites just down from us and were told that those sites were reserved for people that were camping with people across the road....We were shocked because we were told when we made our reservations that we could not choose our sites....They would be assigned when we checked in....We were only told that they would try to give us sites next to each other but we could not choose the sites....We took our assigned site and set up what we could. Our friends arrived and attempted to pull into their site and got stuck in the muck....After several attempts they got their truck unstuck and tried to set up their camper....They opened the sewer connection to try to drain some of the water and were told to stop. Their camper was in several inches of standing water, if they stepped out of their camper they had to wade through several inches of muck....We asked to be switched again and again we were refused.... The next day our friends went back to the office and demanded to be moved or else they were leaving...They were told they could leave but they would be charged for the weekend regardless...They ended up having to move to a site about 20 sites from us...Our weekend was spent going back and forth between sites...And then we discovered the ATV'S....from sunrise to sunset and beyond....Up and down the roads, spewing mud everywhere and the noise was deafening.....The bathrooms and showers were nasty and the employees couldn't care less about anything other than our money....We had been told that the bathrooms, showers and pool had been updated and that was a total lie....To be rudely polite the bathrooms had crap (literally) everywhere and the showers weren't much better..... Think twelve bathrooms and showers for several hundred people.....You couldn't pay Us to go back there. My reason for posting this is because out of curiousity I went to their website and saw that they are charging a base price of $60 per night minimum for a full hookup site in the summer...With an additional charge of $7 per night for a/c? Crazy... And so not worth it....Trip Advisor requested I pick a date of travel and they only went back to October 2011. If you look on Peace River's website I can guarantee that things haven't changed a bit...
