I stayed on october 23-24. At the gatehouse at arrival didnt get a warm welcome from security. Almost turned around . At check in til check out . Had a awesome time . Enjoyed everything from canoe ride to fire with smores. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Will go back again . I keep thinking about it everyday since i left. A nice getway to relax your mind n body. The rooms were very nice n clean. All around service was excellent ! Except for that one guy that day . When leaving the property a different person was working n he was very friendy. Glad i didnt turn around because of one person with a radical attitude.

We only spent one night at Barnsley Gardens, but will go back and stay much longer! A gorgeous spot with so many amenities. We were celebrating our anniversary and were treated so warmly - even got a surprise goodie basket from the "Fairy Godmother" at Barnsley (LOVE that woman!!!). Great accomodations - our cabin had a large living space with great TV's (college football and the US Open were also part of our weekend), comfortable bed, great soaking tub and lovely amenities. The grounds are beautiful - I'd especially love to visit in the Fall with the leaves changing. The area was so peaceful and quiet! The facilities (pool, spa, fitness, golf) were great. The food was also very, very good. We played golf, enjoyed dancing under the stars at the Ruins, sat in the Beer Garden, investigated the trails, etc. A wonderful time!

Recently stayed in a cottage with friends for the weekend and could not have had a better time. Barnsley is a fantastic getaway close to ATL. We all shared a cottage -- each had our own room. We chose to have the resort come cook for us one night at the cottage, which turned out to be excellent. You have a choice of selections from a menu -- they come right to the cottage, set up a grill and prepare a full meal. We couldn't finish all the food -- it was all excellent.

They do everything for you --- all you have to do is ask. We needed a fire started in a fire pit -- one phone call and they came and started it with a blow torch. The fire wood was plentiful. We did skeet shooting as a group one day and it was a blast. The instructors were fantastic and patient. Our group ranged from beginners to experienced hunters and we all had a great time. Throughout our stay the staff was very attentive -- if we needed anything ... they took care of it.

Barnsley is situated such that you are in your own quiet getaway. I couldn't tell how crowded the resort was as we really didn't see many people, but there were a lot of cars.

There was an acoustic guitar in the beer garden from 3pm to 6pm most nights. They cater to a lot of weddings at Barnsley and I imagine if you book a stay at the same time as a wedding they dynamics would be slightly different than our experience.

Overall, an excellent stay and a lot of fun.

This is a charming, quaint, unique, clean southern charm resort. The "cabins" or bungalows are charming, with fireplace claw foot tub, hardword floors, and rocking chairs. We got an internet special of $333 for one night (the best offer on the web site) with a $120 resort credit for an activity or spa. We each had a massage which was very nice at $150 each, dinner at the Rice House restaurant (with an inexpensive $40 wine) was $260 and a breakfst buffet that was $26, plus my $9 oatmeal, and our iced tea and shared snack pool side that was $28. Was it a nice evening together?--of course but with a grand total of over $900 even with the credit and the automatic addition of service fees it made for a very expensive evening and made us definately reconsider spending a week here with our children in the future that we were previously considering prior to this first visit.

We just got back from a long weekend at Barnsley Gardens Resort (our first stay), and we cannot wait to go back. This was a "celebration weekend" with my in-laws, as my mother-in-law has recently and successfully battled breast cancer. We could not have been more pleased! The Fairy Godmother and her assistant made our stay (and in particular my mother in law's stay) so special and wonderful every day we were there.
Just give her a call and she will give you wonderful ideas on how to make someone's stay something they will remember forever!
Virtually every staff member gave us extra info about the property whenever we asked a question, and they were all as pleasant and gracious as could be - from the man at the front gate to the young man bringing us ice in the afternoon. The food at both the Rice House and the Woodland Grill was superb - we ate breakfast and dinner only because we couldn't hold lunch!
My husband and father-in-law played golf and said the course was excellent and one of the best deals around for resort golf. This is saying a lot from my hubby as he has played a LOT of places including Pebble Beach and St. Andrews and too many courses to count in the Southeast.
I found BG on the internet and we selected it on a whim - none of our friends had heard of BG before. We are SO GLAD that we did. I really can't say enough except you should GO!!

Barnsley Gardens is simply in a class by itself!! We discovered BG several years ago and it has become our favorite place to "get away" and enjoy a completely unique resort environment. My wife and I have been fortunate enough to visit numerous 5 star facilities (Pinehusrt, Greenbriar, Homestead, Reynolds, Cordillera, etc) and although many are exceptional, there is nothing like Barnsley Gardens. If you decide to try BG, be prepared for a casual atmosphere, surounded by acres of beautiful woodlands and historic sites and buildings. Overnight accomidations are in the form of individual "cottages" that are perfectly maintained and have ammenities that rival the best hotels in the world. The restaurants, spa, golf, sporting clays, horseback riding, fishing and hunting are all excellent!!! The real attraction for us is to walk the trails and gardens and talk to the amazing staff members about their labor of love.

We have also been fortunate enough to use BG for a business retreat and planning session. Excellent business facilities and the staff was flawless in providing our group with every attention to detail.

A word of warning--when you arrive at this North GA retreat, it won't be what you expect. When you reluctantly have to leave Barnsley, you will be counting the days when you can return!!!
