“Desperately needs some renovations”
Reviewed 3 June 2013

M wife and I went to Sweet Tomatoes yesterday for their amazing salad bar. The variety was very good, the salad bar look well maintained, and the vegetables were fresh and tasty. We also enjoyed the variety of soups and fresh breads that wee also very good. They have a pasta bar with three different selections but we did not try them, nor did we have any frozen yogurt after our meal.

The only negative I found was the horrible shape of the booths at this restaurant. It is always crowded here, and we found that the two or three available booths were in very bad shape - thus explaining why no one was sitting there. The vinyl was badly cut exposing cheap foam padding that was also in bad shape and cut up. I was very surprised that they do not take better care of the restaurant, given the consistently high volume of customers that come through the door. It can't be because they aren't making any money!

“Love this place”
Reviewed 9 April 2013

This is a great restaurant to binge without feeling guilty. They have a huge salad bar and tons of hot soup and pasta options for vegetarians. And their desserts, muffins, lava cakes, etc are decadent and delicious. There are so many options. We eat once in about 2 months - that way it doesn't become routine or boring. Our 2 year old also loves the options he has with the bread, the pasta and the soups and desserts.

“Love this place, wish it was closer to where we live”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

We have impromptu family reunions here 3-4 times a year, and it is always so good! The salad bar is always fully stocked, and the hot bar has so much food it is not possible to leave hungry. The harder part is taking small portions so you can try more than one dish. Everyone in the family can find something here they love, whether it's soup, salad, pasta, potatoes (plain or sweet, baked) or warm bread (focaccia, cornbread, mini muffins, etc).
On this visit, they served hot lava cake, which we all topped with vanilla soft serve! Yummy!

“Aging location with mediocre food”
Reviewed 8 March 2013

Having a known restaurant next to your hotel is nice, but this one is aging and needs a remodel. The floor plan reminds me of the original Souplanation chain in California, and that's a very old floor plan! The drink bar was messy and the bread bar provided only cold breads. Don't waste your time or money - there are better restaurant choices right up the street.

This buffet-style salad and hot bar is always immaculate. They restock items so quickly, and the volume is high, so the food on the buffet is always as fresh as can be. You can make your own salad, choose a prepared salad, or mix-and-match, taking a prepared salad and adding your own ingredients. I've tried maybe ten different types of soups there, and they are all good. The breads and muffins are fresh and hot. The desserts are nice, because you can control your portion size and take as much or as little as you like. The only beef I would have is that the place gets very busy, and during busy times, there is really a school cafeteria-like jangle to the place. Look for coupons online or in your local paper--there always seems to be a discount available.
