Stayed at Coco Beach for last 3 days of 2013. Had a "hotel room" overlooking to pool. View was great and staff was very helpful. Not real issues but timing the water taxi to town was a bit of an issue. Like being able to go when I am ready not based on schedule when on vacation. With multi hour gaps between runs this not really an option. Guess a golf cart might be a better option but as heard roads were bad steered clear. Only issue I had was when transferring to a new resort for 2nd part of stay. Jumped on hotel paid transfer to 2nd hotel fo stay (Pelican Reef south of town). Assured by staff they would take us all the way to Pelican Reef. When arrived in town was asked to get out (nicely) and put in cab with another guy who drove us (and we were charged) to resort. If you have this same deal you might want to get something in writing from Coco that they will cover. Only 15 bucks but left bad taste after great stay!

Room Tip: Make sure you know if hotel room or 'villa' heard others on phone with staff that they thoug...

Vacationed here with fourteen members of our family. Incredible villas, with spectacular ocean views. Full, modern kitchens make it easy if you decide to eat in, though the restaurant on site and pool bar are awesome. Kids are going to love these pools, complete with waterslide. On site tour company will take care of your snorkelling/diving/fishing adventures, and you can borrow a bicycle to ride along the beach to San Pedro.

This is the place you're looking for.

Coco Beach knows how to pamper their guests. The Manager, Amy, greets you when you get off the boat. Staff carries your luggage and a rum punch is waiting for you at the front desk! These kind of touches make Coco Beach Resort stand out. Staff bends over backwards to help you, and even anticipates your needs. You'll learn everyone's name and feel like part of the family. The bar staff is upbeat and friendly. (Thanks Joe and Mac. You are the best).. Even Larry the pool guy is upbeat and friendly. I went with my teenage daughter and we had a ball. I would also go solo here, because everyone is friendly and you wouldn't feel awkward. Great place for families. Skip the expensive breakfast buffet -- not worth it. Dinner is fabulous along with a Casablanca type feel to the restaurant. Coco Beach has 62 rooms so the feeling is initimate. DO NOT MISS CULTURE NIGHT. . . Go , Have Fun!

This resort was beautiful and more than worth the deal we booked on Expedia! My husband and I spent Thanksgiving break here, and it was a wonderful experience. Upon arrival, everything ran smoothly and everyone was so friendly! We let the hotel know what time our flight arrived in Belize City, and they made the arrangements for the charter flight to San Pedro. Someone was at the San Pedro airport to greet us and take us to the speed boat, which took us to the resort. The roads are so small and bumpy, that it's faster taking a boat to the resort than driving (30 min drive vs 10 min boat ride). The rooms were VERY spacious and well designed with free internet.

Some tips to make your stay more enjoyable:

1) There are only 4 ATMs on the island, and all of them are located in the town. Bring cash or use the ATM next to the airport upon arrival.

2) Everyone accepts U.S. Dollars, so no need to exchange currency.

3) Water taxi from town to Coco Beach is $7 USD each way. They only take cash.

4) If you're flying into Belize City, you'll have to take a quick 15-20 min flight to San Pedro on a 14 passenger plane. Give the resort your flight info and avoid the hassle of trying to figure out how to get to the resort on your own.

5) Do your grocery shopping in town. There is a very small convenient store on the resort, but it's very expensive and limited. There's another store that's a 5 min walk away, but it's also small and expensive.

6) The resort location is great if you're looking for a getaway and some rest and relaxation, but you'll have to go into town if you're looking for the lively bars and restaurants. Cheaper restaurants are also located in town.

7) Coco Beach offers free kayak rentals to guests! =)

8) They can arrange tours for you upon arrival, and all logistics will be taken care of for you.

9) The pool, hot tub, and pool bar are awesome! Much nicer than most of the other resorts.

10) There are 3 places to eat at the resort...all of which are kind of expensive, with one choice of fine dining (which is very expensive but delicious).

11) There is a small beach along the coast, but they're not very swim friendly due to the sea grass. Beautiful views though!

12) Rent a golf cart to drive to town (if you don't mind the bumpy roads and enormous pot holes). Better yet, rent a bike to ride along the beach! Very scenic and much more pleasant than the roads.

13) Capricorn was the best restaurant we found close-by. A nice 10 min walk along the beach for some delicious Belizean food.

14) Don't forget to pack your sun block and BUG REPELLENT! There are A LOT of mosquitoes and they attack once the sun goes down.

15) RELAX AND ENJOY EVERY MINUTE...then start thinking about your return visit :)

We had our wedding at Coco beach on Dec 15th and since the moment we arrived it was perfect. As we started planning our wedding at Coco with Ester (who is GREAT) to the day we departed everything was perfect. When we arrived Coco had our driver and boat transport waiting and the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. As we arrived at the dock the staff was there to great us and give us the tour and make sure we had everything we needed. Our family flew in throughout the day and every single one of them received the same great service. The dedication and extremely friendly staff stayed the same throughout our entire stay, I cannot rave enough about the staff! Rooms are amazing, pool, bar and grounds are even better than the pictures! Our wedding day was picture perfect and magical... Thank you Coco for making the week so very special. We are already planning our return for our anniversary!

The rooms were amazing, the bar was amazing, but we didn't spend much time in either. After seeing the the spectacular pool and hot tub (there aren't many hot tubs in Belize) that's where we spent our mornings and evenings! We had one really stormy day and had to cancel our snorkeling trip but we weren't upset, we just went swimming instead!

My family recently returned from a week in Ambergris Caye, Belize. We stayed at the Coco Beach Resort and it was THE best vacation we have had as a family. We have lived overseas in exotic places and travel a lot---this trip was hands down the BEST we have taken. Coco Beach Resort is beautiful and the customer service is tops. Everyone does their best to make sure you have a great time. Our room was sea view--pretty much on the water and the condo itself was beautiful. My husband and son did 2 days of diving including a 3 tank dive to The Blue Hole. That was awesome! Amigos del Mar is a very professional dive company with a large comfortable boat for the 2 1/2 hour boat ride to the Blue Hole. If you like to dive, you won't want to miss the Blue Hole! The Tuff-E-Nuff dive company at Coco Beach coordinate everything for you and their staff is the best. DIve Master Acey was great. We can't say enough good things about Acey and all the staff at Tuff Enuff. Excellent group of people. Be sure to enjoy the Coco Beach Pool Bar and let Mac and the other bartenders show you a fun time with their tricks and mind game puzzles. Roberto at the desk and Zoby of Guest Services are also 2 people I'd like to name as being helpful throughout our stay. You can rent a bicycle for $5 a day and ride on the beach into town to explore the quirky shops and nice boutiques. My son went fishing off the beach for bonefish every day---we kayaked and used the paddleboards (ALL FREE) ... there is so much to do. Be sure to check out the following restaurants: Capricorn, Mangos on the Beach and Caprice. If you want a week of relaxation in the tropics--this is the place.

Room Tip: We stayed in D2 and it was next to a construction site but the noise wasn't unbearable. Our unit...
