Lovely resort with everything we needed to feel comfortable. Larry the pool guy is the best! He was friendly, helpful and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He got us fresh coconuts every day and always asked if we needed anything. Our only complaint is the internet service. We were never able to get a signal from our room and it was a weak connection even when right next to the reception area. (But could be a positive if you want want to "unplug") We rented bikes and enjoyed riding them on the beach. Kayaks and paddle boards were a huge plus. We were able to snorkel from the buoy and saw a nice variety of sea life. We did take a golf cart into town one day and it is was fun for the kids, they felt like they were on a long amusement ride. From reading other reviews, we had groceries delivered prior to our arrival from Mata Grande and that worked out great. We also got burritos from the local guy on the bike who came by every morning at 7:30 and fresh fish from "fisherman Johnson". Was a wonderful trip!

We loved our stay at Coco Beach Resort. The accommodations were clean, modern and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and kept very clean. We were especially taken with the friendliness of the staff, from front desk to the maids. Upon arrival we were met on the dock by the resort manager as well as the general manager for the company. We were given cool towels and cold drinks and shown around the resort. Check-in and check-out were both made very easy. The 2 for 1 conversion made the money exchange easy.

The reason we would not want to go back to Belize is that they are very far behind in developing the infrastructure to support a large tourism based economy. The roads leading to and from the town of San Pedro are almost impassable. There are huge pot holes and large ruts which cause a golf cart ride to be very uncomfortable. We rented 2 golf carts but only kept them 2 days as we found the water taxis the better way to travel. We did travel into town for a couple of meals and were very impressed with some of the restaurants there. We loved BlueWater and Elvis.

Luckily our resort was within walking distance of 3 or 4 very nice restaurants that we enjoyed going to. We also ate at the pool bar at CocoBeach Resort but never tried the restaurant as we thought the prices were too high for the dishes offered.

One big disappointment was the beach in front of our resort. There was a lovely beach but you couldn't go into the water as the bottom was a bed of seagrass. We were told that it was that way the whole length of the island and from what we saw that was true.

The snorkeling trip was very good and the reef is awesome to see. We especially liked our guides, Dave and Wayne. They were extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Room Tip: We had a 2 BD, 2BA sea view condo on the ground floor just past the pool area. It overlooked the po...

This was one of the best trips that we have been on. The manager of the Resort greeted us at the dock and explained everything about the property, cart rentals, bike rentals, etc. He did not leave anything out. As for the resort, It was amazing. Yes, it is a little pricey but it is definitely worth the money. We booked the Casita. It was absolutely beautiful. That is the way to go. The bar staff is out of this world. They made our day everyday. I want to thank Joe, Deon, Alex, Hugh and Larry the pool boy. They definitely deserve a raise. The rest of the staff were just as great but I cant remember their names. The grounds were beautiful and always groomed all day long.. I strongly suggest buying the weekly pass for the water taxis. It is $40.00 per person for a week. Yes, you have to follow their schedule but who cares. Plan ahead. The restaurants in town I would recommend are Elvis, The Patio, Wild Mangos and Casablanca. Coco beach, thanks again. We will definitely be back....

Room Tip: Book the Casita!

Beautiful condo but very Florida-like. Very narrow beach. Must be hyper aware of locals and tourists cycling along it. It isn't lit at night so felt very dangerous to try to walk down to the next open property to eat or to go to Captain Morgan's casino. Sea grass and flotsam ruled out swimming at the beach. Tiny cafe/shop had little to offer (soft drinks, coffees, yogurt, three kinds of pastry, suntan lotion, bug spray-and you do need bug spray here) and its staff couldn't add, even using a calculator! (Luckily I had a pencil and paper.) Limited but unique poolside space but didn't help resort residents to meet and mix. Management descended on us like locusts when we arrived- fast talking and then had nothing to do with us for the remainder of our stay as I guess we didn't look like potential investors. (WRONG) Only one high end restaurant on the property -not suitable as a daily meal option (or for families). Any entertainment???? Not obvious if there ever was. Taking the boat to town seemed like the only way to eat, shop, meet people and have entertainment.

Room Tip: Ground floor means easy access to pool but means anyone can walk in... Choose a second or third flo...

It was one of our best vacations. The resort was great. Our suite could not have been any better. The employees really help make this resort. They were all friendly and made you feel welcome to be there. It did not matter what there job was they all tried to help you and by the end of our trip many of them knew my name. Service was excellent.

Arrival is by small boat, I always like that in a resort and you are greeted at the dock by the manager on-duty and another front desk employee with cool towels and of course a local rum punch with or without alcohol.

Staff is truly wonderful everyone I encountered was helpful and friendly. Great location right on the beach and wonderful pools including a swim up bar.

Small items I missed that would make it truly a 5 star instead of a 4 star. In room activities lists including the cable tv channels for example, in room robes were certainly lacking and a grocery delivery service I know the local captains offer it and sure would be nice because the on site store is pretty limited and expensive. Small things like the shampoo was not replaced daily by housekeeping.

Remember the wireless signal is limited in some parts of the resort but they loan hot spots out at the front desk and that worked great.

Not easy to get there, but the staff made sure we arrived in comfort by e-mailing us a week ahead of our trip: they arranged the connecting flight from the main Belize airport to San Pedro, which avoided a potentially nasty overland to the docks in Belize City and a long uncomfortable boat ride.

The resort is a further 4 mile boat ride up the coast from San Pedro. About a half decade old: the sweet spot between too untested & wear & tear. Everything worked as it should.

Ditto that the customer service is excellent.

My only complaint is that the facility follows the standard airline/Marriott pricing model ... nearly everything involves an add-on fee, and the billing process is cumbersome.
