From the minute we landed in San Pedro to the last minute at the airport, Coco Beach took terriifc care of us. I was traveling alone with (4) teenagers and we had a blast. The tour group 'Tuff n Enough" who is onsite the resort are excellent, hassle free and a great value.

I went here for a quick weekend getaway with a girlfriend. It was the perfect place to be. First of all it is by far the best resort in San Pedro. The pool is amazing with a slide and a giant rockery that you can jump off of! We stayed in a huge suite with a view of the ocean. Tory welcomed us and did a great job getting us everything we needed from beginning to end, including flashlights to walk on the beach at night.

Two warnings: bugs. There are LOTS of moquitos, especially around sunset, so bring bug spray (though the hotel has complementary bug spray at the bar). Secondly, their restaurant is not open yet, so when you order food, it comes from the resort next door. Plastic spoons, forks, styrofoam etc. To combat this, we rented bikes for $5 to ride to the adorable town where we got groceries. The kitchen was better than my kitchen at home, with amazing appliances (including a blender), filtered water, and all the dishes you could ever need.

On our trip to Belize we stayed on Caye Caulker for 8 nights( stayed at Seaside Cabana's, loved it) then we went to San Pedro to splurge at a fancy resort. We were delighted when our water taxi pulled up and the hotel staff met us with ice cold wash cloths that were scented, then they took our luggage and off we went to the reception area where nice fruit cocktails were waiting for us. Then we were offered rum if we wanted it. I was thoroughly impressed. After we went to our room to change the room was everything I had dreamed it would be. We had a two bedroom condo that was absolutely gorgeous and the view off the balcony over looked the pool and then the beautiful ocean. WOW. OK now reality set in as we walked over to the next property and up three flight of stairs to the restaurant. We were the only people there, we were warm thirsty and very hungry. Over our stay we found out that most of the time they are out of many parts of their menu. The food is very expensive and it is a hit and miss when it comes to quality. The problem is you don't really have any choices and the menu is very small. Ok so off to the bar. The cocktails were also very expensive, and I don't think they put any liquor in them, and on average it took 20-30 minutes for a drink, if they weren't busy. No one came around to the pool to ask if you wanted anything and if you did swim up to the pool bar and order they would deliver but one drink at a time and it took over an hour to get 4 cocktails.
I was looking forward to room service, but it wasn't possible because no one new what was available and there were no menus, the phone wouldn't work so we went to the front desk and they said we could order from there if we wanted. Didn't that kinda defeat the purpose of room service? No other options were offered. We set off to look for the store so we could buy some supplies as the gift shop offered nothing and wasn't open very often. We walked quite aways and ate at another restaurant called captain Morgan's, it was absolutley horrible. My filet mignon was like shoe leather. Our next night we ate at Capricorn's. It was simply one of the best meals I have ever eaten. The service was exceptional and the dessert was out of this world. Another big negative for this hotel is the location, although it is very quiet, it is a long way to get to town. A water taxi is neccessary and it is a blast but for each meal it became a pain. San Pedro town itself is cool and fun, with great restaurants and people.
I was told that we had free use of non waterized toys, yes we did but you had to wait as they only had 4 kayaks and nothing else. The pool was wonderful and kept very clean, but overall I was not happy and definelty will not be back. The staff tries and they are so kind but the service is lacking and I think the hotel needs to hire more staff. I know I was on island time but it was ridiculously slow.

Very disappointed!
In choosing a hotel I read the numerous positive reviews on this site, however I was very disappointed. Let me start out by saying that the island is beautiful and we did enjoy our vacation, but it was not because of this hotel. Let's start with the Pros: Beautiful pool, which includes a slide, swim up bar and volleyball net. Location was very nice; with restaurants in walking distance along the shore and tours available at the dock in front of the hotel.
Cons: The rooms; we had unwanted guests: Cockroaches!! The first time we found one in the bathroom I reported it to the front desk. The receptionist offered no apologies and said “The cleaning crew is gone for the night; I'll let them know tomorrow”. He looked like at me like I was crazy for even reporting this incidence. They did clean the rooms the next day and supposedly sprayed. They left roach spray in the bathroom for us as well, an interesting way to handle the issue. A few nights later, another roach on our bed! I was very upset but again the front desk looked at me as if I had five heads! The only thing they did to amend the situation was get security to remove the second roach. It’s an island, and although a hotel of this price shouldn’t have this problem, it happens. But if this were my establishment and my guests found roaches, I would apologize sincerely; Move them to a different uninfected room and Comp at least a few nights of their hotel. None of this occurred. But they did leave us Roach Spray.

I loved the room we got -- spacious 1 bedroom suite with great kitchen facing pool. However, it looked like floors in the suite were never washed since ever. I love to walk barefoot, but my soled would get painted black after few steps indoors.
They were dusted regularly, but not washed.

Also be aware -- there is no restaurant open yet on property. you have to go to neighboring resort or to the city or order room service from nearest place. Which would not be normally a problem -- but for 2 days there was a pouring rain and one has to go to front desk or bar to get room service. No umbrella's were provided either...

And you can't swim on the ocean off the beach, which apparently "normal" for Belize. Oh well...

Wonderful resort. Great hideaway. Very modern and comfortable. Great pool area. The staff is helpful and the guest relations person that met us at the pier and walked us to our rooms was extremely personable! The only problem is not the resort, but Belize in general. The only way to get around is by boat, golf cart or bicycle. Its very dark at night and walking to other restaurants at night can be tricky...also a 6 hour blackout in San Pedro...I loved it! For relaxation in a beautiful beach atmosphere this is the spot!

Just returned from Coco Beach and our stay could not have been better. The resort grounds are beautiful and immaculately maintained. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Both pools are wonderful and large enough that even when the resort is busy you don't feel crowded. The only disappointment is the lack of a restaurant at Coco Beach, the Upper Deck restaurant at the sister property is only mediocre. We ate at Captain Morgan's a few nights and enjoyed the food and the good service. Would highly recommend Coco Beach for a relaxing, quiet vacation.
