We have stayed at the Phoenix twice. We love the contemporary, Mayan, architecture design of the resort. Comfortable, boutique, size complex. Spacious, concrete, condominiums with 10' ceilings, and huge deck areas make these units stand apart from most resorts and hotels.
This is not a white sand beach resort. But the Phoenix is the most convenient location to everything in San Pedro, and all the water activities. The staff are lovely. Some of the nicest people we have ever experienced. The rates are higher than most Hawaiian resorts, but the experience is exclusive, and not shared with hundreds of other guests.

We recently stayed at The Phoenix for 6 days and could not have been happier with our choice!

Traveling was simple to Belize, even though I was unsure of our tiny Tropic Air plane ride, it was a gorgeous way to see the island before we arrived. (A great recommendation from the Phoenix staff.) It took less than 5 minutes by taxi to get to the Phoenix. While the outside was very unassuming, inside the resort walls is gorgeous! The location was so convenient throughout our trip!

As soon as we arrived the front desk staff was extremely friendly, they equipped us with complementary drinks, our keys, a cell phone with free minutes already loaded, a map of the island and many recommendations on the spots to see. We went ahead and booked our half day snorkeling to Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley with Lil' Alfonse (a MUST do!! this, coming from a very inexperienced snorkeler who had a previous bad experience - Alfonse and Chino were awesome instructors and so much fun! Don't miss out on swimming with the sharks!).

Stacy gave us tour of the property (beautiful) and then explained our accomodations. While my husband and I were on this trip with another couple the 2 bd/2 ba condo was the perfect choice. We had a large veranda that went the lenth of our condo, beautiful open rooms and lovely bathrooms. They arranged beforehand for the second bedroom to be converted from 2 twins to a King size bed which fit us perfectly. I slept perfectly the entire trip! They also supplied complementary purified water which was a great expense to not have to worry about (although the water is safe to drink).

Stacy reccommended the Lazy Croc for lunch that day (since it's only open on the weekends) and we decided to go for it instead of sticking around the resort. She arranged for a golf cart and we headed to have a drink by the pool while we waited - only for the cart to arrive before we could have a drink! Driving the golf cart through town was fun and a great way to explore the island. Lazy Croc was great bbq - and this is coming from a group of southerners. We also got to see the crocodile try eat a bird! On the way back to the resort we stopped at Palapa's and enjoyed drinks on the upper deck watching sunset - so relaxing!

I highly recommed the Fry Jacks at Estels for a relaxing breakfast on the beach. (One of my favority things about the trip.) We spent a lot of our trip at the pool - which I wasn't sure about because usually I want to be on the beach. I was worried I'd be dissapointed by the sea wall at the Phoenix. But it was just the opposite. You get the view and the sea breeze without getting sand and salty water. Plus, a pool side bar that makes awesome Dirty Bananas. We would wander back into town for lunch, a 5 - 10 minute walk to every restaurant we wanted to go to. (Other favorite restaurants - Wild Mangos, Legends, Rojo Lounge.) Even the street vendors along the way were friendly and not pushy!

It was so nice every evening to come to the resort and have the welcoming security guards open the gate for us. The ladies at the front desk went above and beyond to make arrangements for us. They were quick to notify us when our snorkeling was postponed due to the weather but handled all of the arrangements for us so there was no hassle at all. They even offered to order beer straight from the distributor for us because they said that was the least expensive way! They called all over town to find a golf cart for us, made restaurant reservations, helped our husbands arrange a private boat ride for a romantic dinner and much more. The housekeeping staff was so friendly and always did a great job replenishing the items we needed.

Choosing to stay at The Phoenix is probably what made our trip to Belize so amazing! Even before we arrived Stacy was quick to respond to email questions about money, safety, excursions, etc. Usually once I've travled somewhere I'm ready to see the next place, but I think Belize and The Phoenix will be on our must return list. Overall it was a fabulous trip!

Everything about our stay at the Phoenix led us to believe each step of the process is well thought out. From pick-up/ check in (where you receive a free cell phone with credit for local calls to check out, we felt the staff predicted our every step and had answers ready for all your needs.

The condos are amazing. The views from the second floor of the Caribbean are beautiful and they also overlook the pool. Huge verandas with comfortable seating and lounging wrap around the oceanfront condos, offering cool breezes and a great spot to have dinner or a drink or two. The appliances and furniture are the best we've seen in any comparable resort. We felt like we had found our second home, especially as the beds are ridiculously comfortable.

Being a short stroll to the center of town was ideal for the morning stroll for coffee or the late night wobble from the bars. We both dive, so had a 2 min walk to the shop pier.

There was only 1 other couple staying at the resort, so had lots of privacy. Even if the pool were to be busy, we imagine it still to be the perfect place.

We just completed our 2d stay and booked our 3d before leaving. Believe everything positive you read about the Phoenix. Simply the best and meets every expectation of the experienced traveler. Top-notch staff; comfort and amenity to exceed all reasonable expectations. Top this off with the Belizean lifestyle and you just cannot go wrong.

My husband and I absolutely loved The Phoenix. It is a beautiful, spacious and luxurious condominium resort. We stayed in a top floor (the 3rd) two-bedroom condo, and it was perfect!!! The condo was huge and had every amenity anyone could possibly want. Plus a huge balcony with fabulous views of the beautiful pool area and the ocean. The front desk staff is wonderful and will work with you to make any arrangements that you need. We took a golf cart out to see the island one day (one of the things we love about San Pedro is that everyone drives golf carts!). The staff made all the arrangements and even had the golf cart sitting there waiting on us. They even furnished us with a cell phone to use while we were there, as well as an iPad!!!! The grounds are beautiful, and the pool area is just a dream. And the bartender down at the pool is great. Be sure to order a banana daiquiri while you're by the pool. He makes the best!!! He even adds some chocolate syrup to it...yummy!!! Also, the location of The Phoenix is great in relation to the restaurants and other activities in San Pedro. And the security is excellent. There were security officers at every entrance 24 hours a day. We both felt totally safe all the time there. If you get a chance to go to San Pedro, I highly recommend The Phoenix!! I would go back there tomorrow if I could!!!!!!

The Phoenix is one of the best resort I have stayed at. Stacey and Pamela were very helpful in getting us the right rooms (2 beach view side by side 2 bedrooms condos) and activities. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. The property is new and spotless with huge bedrooms. The pool and the views are beautiful. The location is perfect in San Pedro, we could walk to all the restaurants, bars and night spots but it was not noisy. The Resort is right next to the police station and fire department, plus there is a security guard consistently doing rounds, and we felt totally safe. There is a kitchen with all the pots, pans ... and a dishwasher.
