Best hotel on San Pedro. Clean, not overcrowded, large well furnished rooms, with modern amenities and great views. Great birthday!
P.S. Don't expect to check in early.
I would expect all-inclusive for the price of the hotel. Despite that would stay here again.

Room Tip: Choose a room that's on the ground floor directly facing the ocean. Easier to get back and forth...

Believe the superlative reviews. The Phoenix is a really well run property, with super friendly and helpful staff, terrific accommodations, and a convenient central location on the edge of town. You notice how good the front desk staff is before you get there...during the planning stages of your trip they arrange your air transport to and from the island, your diving, and correspond with you via email flawlessly. Upon arrival, the same awesome front desk staff quickly check you in, hand you a complimentary ipad and local cellphone for use during your stay, and offer you some restaurant choices for dinner. You listen as you slurp down a complimentary and delicious rum runner. Room check-in, if you are lucky, can be earlier than typical because many guests catch early flights off the island. The suites are modern and beautifully furnished, with fully stocked kitchens, flat panel lcd TV's, soft towels, and super comfy beds and linens. Rooms are made up every morning while you are out, and there is turn down and extra towel service every evening at around 7pm. The property is within a few blocks of most restaurants in town, and if you choose to rent a golf cart they hand you the keys and for $15 its yours for the night. The air conditioning works great, the wifi is fine for downloads but slow on uploads. The onsite restaurant is OK, nothing to go out of your way for but great when you don't feel like going off the property....and did I mention super nice restaurant and bar staff? Granted there is no real beach in front of the property (aside from a shallow walking beach) but there is SO much more to do in Belize than sit on a beach chair... go diving (Ecologic, a great dive operation, is steps from the Phoenix), go fishing, walk along the beach and stop in at one of the many restaurants to drink a bottle of Belikan and just chill out, watch the ferry boats come and go...try to de-stress and imagine you are a local...

Room Tip: I don't think its a big deal...closer to beach and/or higher will give you a better view...but i...

From arrival to departure the staff at this wonderful hotel was amazing. My best friend and I stayed in a two bed room suite. We never had to ask for anything. Our excursions were booked for us by the front desk. They even knew with out us mentioning it, that our tour van had AC issues and had cold beer and local rum in the fidge when we returned from a wonderful day on the main land. They anticipate your needs before you even realize you needed the need! Lol! The salt water pool is beyoned perfection. We spent most of our time at the pool relaxing. Rolando, was an excellent pool attendant. He made sure we were comfortable and had plenty of food and drink. The Sol Spa was another excellent experience! I had the best massage and body scrub ever! Please do yourself a favor and stay with the best on the island.

Room Tip: We stayed in D4. Great veiw of the ocean and pier. Go to the roof top for sunset.

This resort is in a great location, right downtown and off the beach. Service was good, the rooms beautiful, and the restaurant on the hotel grounds, the Red Ginger is superb! We went with a group of 7 family members aging from 15 to 75 and we all loved it. We went during the off season, which is in early December before the holidays began. This had a dramatic impact on the price of the rooms.

I realy enjoyed my stay at The Phoenix Resort. Rooms are very spacious and tastefully decorated. There is a full kitchen. Service was excellent! They took care of all my reservations and travel arrangements. Staff speaks fluent English. Restaurant onsite serves deacent food, although it's not gourmet. Unfortunately there is no beach anywhere near the property and for a lot of people it's a major issue.

Room Tip: Avoid room B-1. It is across from busy street and I could hear cars go by all night long.

We have traveled the world and stayed in some of the finest resorts. Some of those places could learn about service and going out of their way to please guests by spending some time at the Phoenix. I staff was wonderful and anticipated every need. The front desk, pool personnel, security, housekeeping, etc., etc. were all there to help yet were unobtrusive.

We had a 2 bedroom beachfront condo which was tastefully decorated and had every convenience that one could need on a vacation. Everything was in working order and the view was enchanting.

Two thumbs up!!

Definitely one of the best resorts I've stayed in: fantastic view, spacious suites, good food on resort property, and service was excellent. The front desk helped book domestic flights for decent prices which was appreciated.
Definitely recommend for families, couples, honeymoon, etc.

Room Tip: Beachfront view - unbeatable
