Our goal was to relax and decompress, and that is exactly what we did. We loved every aspect of the trip, the town, your condo and the Phoenix. Bottom Line we cannot wait to comeback and we will definitely comeback. We have been to Mexico a lot and to several Caribbean islands and we fell in love with the Phoenix and San Pedro. I broke out our feedback into categories

The Condo (we stayed in C6)

Loved the design, the decorations and accommodations. The king sized bed was super comfortable, sheets nice and soft. Annie has never slept so well! Towels, soft and large, the robe was perfect for Annie (In fact we purchased one from The Phoenix). The view out of the bedroom and off the deck is simply amazing. We could not come up with anything the condo lacked or that we said I wish it had this or that. It was very comfortable to be in there. The info sheets were very helpful. The stairs going up to C6 (39 to be exact) kept us both fit as we went up/down many times (HA!).

The Phoenix facility

Annie and I walked a long ways north and south and saw many places and none came close to the Phoenix. We loved the layout, the architecture, and the attention to details. All top shelf so you feel you are in a special place. The pools were very refreshing (maybe a bit too refreshing after a cooler night). We spent a great deal around the pool, talking, reading, napping and of course sunning. The large grounds and the whole pool area were very comforting and relaxing (vs. having everything squeezed into a tighter smaller space or adding more units. Well thought out blueprint and layout. The service was outstanding; everyone was always anticipating our needs or going out of their way to please us.

We had lunch pool side a number of times. The food was very very good, loved the blue cheese burger, the shrimp burger, grouper sandwich, the tomato bisque, and the empanadas.

We ate at the Red Ginger (NEW restaurant on site at the Phoenix) a couple of times and our experiences were nothing short of outstanding. The fresh fish and the unique preparations blew us away. If I had a menu I would call them out. The Grouper, Short Ribs, Shrimp Avocado salad and the Trio ... were amazing. Andres (Gran Chef) and his staff, the servers, the bartenders were wonderful. Andres and Mark (Manager) were very open to real feedback on the food (i.e. the bread for the grouper sandwich fell apart), Andres the next day started to source different bread for lunch that day!

The town of San Pedro

Love, love, loved it. The quaintness of the whole town, beachside dining and nightlife, all the children playing on the docks or the town center playground. Liked being able to walk pretty much everywhere. We found what we needed at the markets.

Our Favorite Restaurants were

Red Ginger
Blue Water
Wild Mangos.
Estel's for the best breakfast (we tried many).
TackleBox for nightlife/dancing Tues night they had a really good band - Annie and I danced till close.
La Playa Lounge was a nice layout for kicking back in a comfy couch.

Activities.

We found the pool to be so relaxing it was difficult to motivate to do anything else. We walked a lot. The highlight was Mark arranging a private guide with Oliver for the day. Andres and staff made us a great picnic lunch (cooler) and a bottle of champagne. We snorkeled 4 sights, fished, we were dropped off on a private beach for lunch and I "learned" or attempted spear fishing. The whole day was so much fun. Taking a private guide we were able to take our time and work around the other larger groups snorkeling, weather, and finding the sun, etc. I highly recommend taking Oliver out for a day!!!

As you can see by reading this, we had such a great time accomplishing our objective. We honestly could not come up with anything material that needs improvement. Here are a few minors...

1) Pool could be a little warmer.
2) Pool-side bathroom
3) Knowing when the major restaurants are closed. some on Sunday, many on Tues, others on Wed?
4) Having a guest book in the room. Annie and I will pick one up and be the first entry and send it down there.

We had a great time!!! We seriously want to comeback as soon as we can, later this year or next spring.

We enjoyed our stay at The Phoenix in every way possible. The units are spacious and stylish and the resort grounds are absolutely beautiful. The resort is an amazing blend of traditional Belizean architectural elements and modern design. Large windows provide beautiful views of the Caribbean and infinity pool, and doors open out to patio space and the courtyard.

The owners and staff of the Phoenix are exceptional and made us feel at home in every way. This is a jewel in paradise! We're looking forward to our next stay there!

The Phoenix resort, in the heart of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize - the best time we have had out of all the caribbean islands we have visited.

The resort offers 5 star service with restaurant, spa, finest features of living accomodations, pool, and most of all, caribbean view. While quite luxurious, the rooms provide a feeling of an open environment - blending with nature.

The location is perfect for easy walks to other restaurants and food markets. But best of all, the service is outstanding. They arranged for a mainland tour to visit the Belize zoo, and one can choose from many other tour options and just go to the entrance of the resort for pickup. Everything else is arranged so you are in constant relaxation.

If you want to totally relax with everything at your fingertips, The Phoenix has it all. Many resorts on the island require a water taxi to take you into town to check out other restaurants, etc.

The snorkeling and scuba diving off of the barrier reef was our greatest interest, but even doing nothing and just sitting on the deck and sipping a cool drink is fantastic.

My husband and I had the most relaxing trip we have ever had. The Phoenix property was absolutly beautiful. The Condos were first class and had anything you could possibly need. The beds were very comfortable they even had a view of the water. Mark and all the staff were all very helpfull and friendly. We were able to walk to all the great restaurants, bars and shops. The pools were refreshing and surrounded by new landscaping and what a veiw . The pool bar was a nice addition towards the end of our trip and David the bartended was great. I Loved the frozen Mojitos. We also enjoyed the spa . We look forward to our next trip to San Pedro and our next stay at the Phoenix

Terrific!! A large, beautiful room with all the modern ammenities (nicer than our own kitchen at home to be honest), a gorgeous pool to relax in, an amazing view of the ocean from our own room deck, and only steps to San Pedro's restaurants, grocery stores, and even a playground for kids. It is ideal for families as well as couples and, given it was only just built, it is in fantastic condition. You are right next to the dock (for a trip to the reef or Caye Caulker). The staff aims to please (Mark and Sarah are the best). I loved the fact that me, my wife, and 2.5-year old son were able to enjoy the comforts of a resort while also being very close to the culture and people of San Pedro. You will not regret choosing the Phoenix.

I have traveled abroad quite a lot in the last ten years, and my recent stay at the Phoenix was hands down the best trip I've had. The rooms themselves are gorgeous, both in layout and in comfort. The amenities are hard to beat as well, with two terrific pools, and perhaps the best restaurant on the Caye (though I remain partial to Caliente for a cheap but delicious lunch). But what made the real difference in this trip was how helpful the staff was. The resort manager seems to know everyone and how to get anything done. Want to dive? He knows the best dive master. Want to golf? He'll get you on the ridiculously nice course at Caye Chapel. Want to go out to dinner? He's got a handful of great recommendations (if you're bothering to leave the grounds since Red Ginger is right there). Want to have a drink or two? He'll tell you where to go - though you'll have to answer about ten questions first so that he sends you to the right spot. To top it all off, the value is surprisingly good. In short, this was somehow both the most adventure-filled and relaxing vacation I've taken in ten years. If you're going anywhere this year, go stay at the Phoenix - you'll be raving about it for years.
