Description: Yo-ho Rojo! Coming into our 12th season, Rojo Beach Bar is still the casual kind of place a beach bar ought to be. 3 gorgeous acres and hundreds of feet of beachfront with great snorkeling so don't forget your bathing suits and masks! Food is ordered AT THE BEACH BAR or by the runner outside the bar (there are NO waitstaff). Reason being is we are small and we don't get too crowded...a plus for you! So, we prefer to under promise and over deliver! If it's a typical day, you will be served and our staff is great! If it gets REALLY busy, we might be short-handed behind the bar, in which case you might not have a dedicated "runner/sever." Dishes are served family style, one or two at a time, with the idea that they're going to be shared over frosty drinks and lively conversation. There are no "appetizers" or "mains" per se, just tasty food. Our staff is small and everything is made from scratch. Sometimes this translates into a bit of a wait. If you are waiting for food, we suggest you enjoy a cocktail. If you are waiting for a cocktail, we suggest you relax and enjoy the view! Pet the dogs. Play some games. Happy Hour DAILY from 3pm - 5pm! And QUALITY sushi on Saturdays!

We are never disappointed with Rojo! The dogs, bar, staff, food and of course, Danny and Finn! They are our family whenever we visit and will return! Love you Jeff and Viv!

“Incredible Chef's Table”
Reviewed 28 July 2013

We had more food than we could eat and every dish was perfect. The dumplings with peanut sauce were amazing along with braised pork boas and spicy rice noodles topped my favorites. We also had some pizza's which some of my group thought were the best pizzas from anywhere in the world. Vivian also ensured that our vegetarian guest was accommodated with special plates and that we were cautious on preparation and separation of food for a nut allergy person. The service was amazing from planning the menu to accommodating us on a different night. The setting was beautiful ... a little bit of a boat taxi ride to get there but well worth it!

“Great location”
Reviewed 25 June 2013 via mobile

Food was decent, the staff are friendly. The restroom is clean! The bird at the bar was entertaining, nice to see the dogs are takencare by the staff. Can't beat the location, right on the beach.

“Good Bar”
Reviewed 21 June 2013

Rojo Lounge was just a few steps up the beach from our Villa, so we visited multiple times during our stay on the Caye. Our group of 11 enjoyed the atmosphere at the bar—good drinks, very friendly and talkative bartenders, and the other patrons were friendly. Service was standard by Ambergris standards (i.e. slow compared to the U.S.), but the cocktails were worth the wait. There are several unique concoctions on the specialty cocktail menu—all were tasty. We ordered pizza on one visit—again a bit of a wait, but very good.

“Rojo Rocks”
Reviewed 18 June 2013

They are closed Sunday and Monday, so plan accordingly.

Cool vibe, right on the beach and very close to Matachica.

The food is really good here- if conch is in season then get the conch fritters!!!! SOOOOO GOOD

One of the bartenders here made us all a drink called "The Mexican" It was a spicy yellow tequila drink served on the rocks with a slice of jalepeno floating in it. WE LOVED THEM!!!

I kept wanting to go back.
