Just love this place! Workers are friendly, the view is pretty awesome and the Belikins are ice cold! The food is really good, best in this area. Try some fried Dill Pickles... Not a Fast Food Restaurant, so kick back enjoy!!

“Cool Spot, So-So Food”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

Palapa is worth a trip, if only to experience an overwater bar and grill. It's a tropical experience, like something out of a movie. The bar has tethered inner tubes for guest use, and a drink pulley system to ensure you stay hydrated while tubing.

The view from the second floor is fantastic, a great place to have a drink and soak in the atmosphere.

The food is average. We had fish tacos. The fish was small cubes of fish, nicely seasoned, but unusual, in that fish tacos are normally just a fillet or two. The tortillas were thick, yellow corn, and a bit inflexible. All toppings (sour cream, pico de gallo) were in small plastic cups. No cabbage or crema on the tacos.

Next time, I'd try the burgers instead.

“Loved it!”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

Went over on our first day to San Pedro. Snorkeled under the bar, had some cool refreshments (Palapa Punch) and then floated on the inner tubes roped off by the bar- it was fun! Had an early dinner - burger was fantastic. So was the shrimp and fish fingers!! Bartenders/servers introduced themselves by name and called us by our names- very nice! Great place!

“Not as cool as it sounds”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

As a regular bar it was fine. But we were disappointed with what we found based on our expectations. First, the tubes are uncomfortable, and dangers with the rusty massive inflators sticking out. Also, the tubes don't have a good view of the Caribbean, the view is lousy from the tubes. If you choose to chill in the tubes, all you can get brought to you is buckets of beers, just buckets. And unless you are the lucky one to have the only floating cooler to put the bucket in, you will have know where to keep your bucket.

“Forget all the hoopla - it is for real!”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Wasn't planning on stopping here - never make an "itinerary". Just kind of bumped into it. Immediately remembered reading about it (OK - remembered after we got home) and smiled. Ordered drinks and we sat looking out at the ocean. Totally messed up the rest of our day as we didn't want to leave - and we didn't.

One of the best views and breeze you can ask for. Could have stayed there forever.

Drinks were good too. Didn't have any food.
