We had been having such a great week in San Pedro, everywhere we went, whether fancy or hole in wall had amazing service and food. We heard great things about Sunset grill, so we had to try it. Unfortunately when we got there, this wasn't the case. Our waiter seemed to be the only person running the place. He tried to get the fish to come out so we could see them and he was friendly enough. We ordered our drinks apps and entrees. About an hour later we got our apps. We chalked it up to the lack of staff. Then about an hour later we were still waiting for our entrees and no staff was there to inquire about it to. We thought the waiter was cooking it, I peeked in the kitchen and found more staff. We asked another table over if they had their food and they too had been waiting over two hours. We let it go since we were on vacation and had no rush, but when our lobsters arrived, they were severly over cooked and had turned to rubber. All the food was terrible, I informed the waiter that we weren't going to eat this, and to give us our check, I told him we would pay for what we consumed. He then came to our table to argue with us about each plate and said that we were the only table in the history of this restaurant to ever complain. Meanwhile the other table also returned the food and left. I could have dealt with the bad food and long wait and would have just paid and left to eat somewhere else, but his attitude was uncalled for.

This was fun, Miss Velma was so kind and friendly. We went to feed the fish. the kitchen was not open at the time, but she got us some drinks and then showed us how to feed the tarpons with sardines. You have to try this!! The tarpon are huge and just jump up out of the water and eat from your hand. Pretty cool!

FEED THE TARPON! If you come here and have lunch or dinner, they let you feed the tarpon outside! It was so much fun and the food and drinks were delicious. We had steamed fish with rice and beans and a banana daiquiri made with coconut creme! Yum! Service is great too and they are super helpful in teaching you how to not get bit by a tarpon haha. I can see this place getting very busy once the water taxi terminal opens up there.

The food here was pretty good, not the best & far from the worst. However the highlight here is the view of the sunset & feeding tarpins from the dock! They jump out the water & snatch sardines from your hand!! Don't be afraid, try it out! It makes the visit to sunset even more worth it!
