We went to this restaurant for breakfast. It was average and a little high priced but not bad. Good service, place was nearly empty. You are on the 3rd. floor so the view is expansive. It would be an outstanding place from which to view a sunset, although we never made it up there to do so.

This was a nice place on the lagoon side. Food was good and feeding the tarpon was a blast.

Sadly it's closed. There are so many good restaurants you have to be great to last.

Decided while in't into have lunch here. Great Views, and wife and I enjoyed the lunch menu. As it was off season, not much of a crowd, so hard to judge atmosphere, but I say worth a stop.

The Sunset grill has struggled for a while, but Randy as the current owner is trying really hard to get this place back up to a class A restaurant.  It is not on the ocean side, but will be by a bustling area.  The ferry docks are going in next door and I hope will give the Sunset grill a little more traffic.  So why do you want to come here.  In the evening, when it is cooler, the Tarpon are jumping, and they are just plain fun to watch and feed.  Read other reviews about the food, it is hit and miss.  (Please Staff, Take Notice)  The place is open air and has a really nice feel.  We stopped by this visit at noon.  It was hot so the Tarpon really don't jump.  The staff did let us feed them.  Also we got drinks, and they were all made fresh and were really good.  We will be back next year.

Thank myalchemy

Sunset Grill is off the beaten track, but only a short distance from downtown San Pedro and worth the trip. They make the best fried fish we have ever had. Last time, I found out the secret which is they use cassava root to make the crunchy coating. Unfortunately I can find nothing similar to use to replicate them in my home state of California. We have been there many times and usually have had great food. After ordering, you can entertain yourselves or your children by feeding the tarpon; I elected to instead drink a freshly squeezed lime cocktail. Staff are friendly, but be prepared for slow service. Mostly that is because everything is made to order, but the last time we went they ran out of food and had to send someone to get more which made it more than an hour until we got our food. Unfortunately, they didn’t tell us why the meal was delayed until we asked.
