“They try their best to accomodate”
Reviewed 11 January 2014

Place is owned by an Englishman, with very English humour. Friendly place where you can hang out at the bar for beer and pizza.
It's not the Hilton but they do try to accomodate all requests. They helped me wash and dry my diving equipment. When I found a dive shop that offered prices lower than theirs, they agreed to match. And when they could not match the price, they told me to go with the other agency.

Room Tip: If you stay in the block across the main compound ask for a room closer to the main building so you...

We just spent a 10 days at Pedro's and had a blast! We booked into one of the "deluxe" rooms that have recently been remodeled and found every comfort that we required...comfortable bed, air conditioning, hot shower, and cable tv with about 100 channels.

BUT THE REAL NEWS is how Pedro's has created a wonderful place for vacationers to have a good time. BANDS play there several nights a week...POKER RUN pub crawl on Saturday night hopping from bar to bar on golf carts arranged by Pedro's (at no cost)...COMMON SPACE of picnic tables in the center of the grounds for games, sharing experiences, or having a beer...FREE BICYCLE rentals...the BEST PIZZA and bar in San Pedro...TOURS arranged by Pedro's for any Water or Inland trip...and all arranged by an OUTSTANDING STAFF (Paul, Philipe, Wendy, Lois, and Nye) who bend over backwards to help make your vacation a winner.

I'M GOING BACK!!!...The only question is when?...Thanks Peter for the awesome time!!!

Room Tip: Best choice are Deluxe rooms with all amenities that go for about $79 and are located right over the...

I spent one week in Pedro's Hostel. I had one of the little rooms above the bar. I felt lucky to have the room to myself, as it's very very small, just big enough for two beds. With two people I guess you'd have to put luggage under the bed. There is no electrical outlet in these rooms, but you can recharge batteries or iPads in either the office or the bar. It seems to be safe. In the office you can also refill your water bottle or get a cup of brewed coffee for $1 BZ each.

That's about the only things that are cheap here, though. I had a pizza and another dish in the bar and they were both pretty good, but pricey. A bottle of diet soda was double what it costs at the restaurant at Ramon's, a fancy and beautiful hotel down the road from Pedro's. However it is very pleasant to be able to use the swimming pools. For those who want a beach, the nicest I found was at nearby Ramon's, where you walk through their absolutely gorgeous jungle landscaping and past picturesque bungalows to the clean and lovely beach. No one seems to mind if outsiders lie down on the sand or swim off their dock. Have a meal at Pineapples, their restaurant. Delicious.

Pedro's is located about a 15-minute walk from the main "downtown" area. Sometimes I hitched a ride on a passing golf cart; usually I walked. It's also just next to the airport, so you will hear the planes landing and taking off continually. There is a little grocery store nearby, but most of the shops and restaurants are in the center.

While I was there, there was one evening of live music, a trivia night, football games on TV, etc. Felipe and Paul were particularly friendly, as well as Ni in the bar. At Pedro's you can book snorkeling and diving tours at more or less the going rate. There are other excursions as well. They were even kind enough to drop me off at the water taxi office when I was departing. I never had to wait to use the shared toilets or showers, which were cleaned daily. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Just one warning: in hot weather I imagine these low-cost tiny rooms would be suffocating, even with the fan overhead. I was there during a cooler and rainy spell, so it was bearable. I recommend the hostel for people traveling on a budget. In high season it's a good idea to book ahead.

We stayed at Pedro's for 4 nights. The staff and owner, Peter, were great. They were happy to help and set us up on tours and give us a lift to the boat at the end of our stay. The bar is great and good food too...especially the spag bol! The shared bathroom facilities were great and good, speedy wifi too!

The equipment of the rooms is very...basic. Beds, a fan, a couple of nails - that´s it! Not even sockets! Not to have a socket in the room is kind of fail. But to be fair - the staff was very helpful and friendly

Stayed a night in the hostel, it was perfectly nice, nothing fancy, jut vest simple. Not very soundproof walls and right by the airstrip so not great for light sleepers. The pool was very refreshing if not the cleanest. The bar had a great atmosphere and the pizza was great! Pedro himself was so nice and welcoming.
