We actually ended up at Victoria House by accident, but I'm extremely happy that we had the chance to stay here. Visitors get a taste of southern charm and amazing hospitality, but in a tropical setting with stunning views of the ocean.

The hotel is small, I believe 42 rooms, and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous! To top it all off, the staff is super friendly and accommodating. The customer service at this hotel is top notch. Be warned, leaving Victoria House is not easy.

I found Victoria House to be a bit pricey (for San Pedro), but I have no regrets.

The property is about 2 miles or so from downtown San Pedro. You can borrow a bicycle (for free) during the day, rent a golf cart (not sure of pricing), take a cab (about $5 USD) or walk along the beach (30 minute walk). I wish it had been just a tad bit closer to town, but oh well!

We had the opportunity to spend 4 days at Victoria House and had a great experience. The level of service at VH was wonderful. Everyone has welcoming, friendly, helpful. In particular Marlon, Sherry, Manuel and Oscar were outstanding!! The location is great. Close to town and easy to get about. The grounds were incredibly well kept, the beach is beautiful but the water off the beach not really what I'd like to swim in. The dock on the property was very handy for snorkeling excursions and some sea weed free swimming. We stayed in the infinity suite which included a kitchen, living room, bedroom, 2 bathrooms and four glorious porches. Would definitely stay again on a return trip to AC (preferably the villas next time which seem to get snapped up quickly). The restaurant was very, very good. I'd say probably one of the best fine dining options on the island and would rate it a 4 out of 5. Just not "OMG I have to eat there every day, snap pictures and blog about it" good for the the money.

Room Tip: Splurge on a villa. Plantation rooms are basic hotel rooms. A bit small.

We are an English couple, in our 70's. We spent two days at the Lamanai Jungle Lodge and ten days at Victoria House in a most comfortable room, lacking only a hand-rail in the shower on which to hang wet swimsuits etc. and to grab if we slipped. The management and staff make this hotel unbeatably pleasant - nothing too much trouble and all of them charm itself. The beautiful gardens, long palm-shaded beach, good food, buggy-trips if you like, very pleasant restaurants in San Pedro if we wanted a change, all made our holiday just about perfect.
Our only reservation is nothing to do with the hotel, but we would mention that sea-swimming from the beach is not really possible because of the sea-grass; however, one can swim from the end of the jetty in a restricted area, and the water is gloriously warm. Snorkelling is done from boats, this is not quite world-class but very enjoyable, and the boatmen are enthusiastic, efficient and very safety-conscious.
We would not hesitate to return to lovely Victoria House with its very special atmosphere. A final remark: Miami Airport is NOT for the faint-hearted - try and find another route!

Room Tip: Plantation Rooms, either ground floor or upper storey, are very comfortable and have a small veranda...

Just returned from 4 days with a group of girlfriends and again, VH was amazing. Peaceful beach and pools, excellent food and the attentive staff are what makes this hotel my favorite beach destination. I was there in July for my honeymoon and was nervous this trip wouldn't live up to that one, however it was just as fantastic. We stayed in a 2BR infinity suite which had a fully stocked kitchen, 2 bedrooms (1Q, 1K), 2 bathrooms (1 was smaller) and 4 (4!!) porches, two off the upstairs room. The back door opened into a little private garden with an outdoor shower and the front porch opened to the gorgeous view of the pool, lawn and beach. The food was amazing (order the grouper, you won't regret it) and the staff make it so personal. (Thanks Leonel and Manuel and Julio!) Already planning my next trip.

Room Tip: I've stayed in Plantation Room 18 and it was great, Infinity Suite 54 was also fabulous. Maybe...

What a fabulous vacation! Had a really great time at this resort for our 15th anniversary! The plantation room was beautiful & so comfortable. Loved the beach bag they had ready with towels. The housekeeping service was great, our room was kept clean and the grounds were wonderfully maintained. Great location & great resort. We will definitely return!

Wow. This place is gorgeous! Location could not be better. Walk, bike or take a golf cart to town of San Pedro for shops & restaurants. The hotel is so beautiful. We had a Plantation room. Very roomy with a beautiful bed. Also bathroom sink is separate from shower. Fresh flowers & chocolates welcome you. Turn down service every night. Grounds are perfect. Walkways are sand. Grounds workers rake away your footprints. There's a foot bath before entering your porch to keep the sand out of the room. Breakfast is good with homemade breads or muffins and perfect coffee and fruit. Service was perfect in every aspect. No TV, phone or clock in room. You are here to relax and forget about the rest of the world...not hard to do here. If you need a wake up call they will knock on your door. All excursions leave from their dock. I highly recommend this beautiful property. You will not be disappointed!

My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon in mid June here and absolutely loved VH. There were a few small draw backs, solely my opinion. The restaurant on site is quite expensive, to be expected for a high end hotel. We were more interested in taking in the local spots. This hotel was the only one we visited that had a proper romantic setting. We visited a number of others and this hotel is really well situated for couples. Privacy at any hour. A small and private beach. Complimentary rides into town, so you don't have to rent a golf cart every day. Complimentary bikes. And, one of the best simple breakfasts: small warmed muffins with strong coffee with warm butter and jam. It was great. The hotel was really a highlight for us, and we hope to go back.

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the plantation rooms. We loved it. We couldn't hear our neighbors at all...
