Stayed at Holiday Hotel 9-12 Mar, room 11. Water taxi in from BC and flew out on Tropic Air. Center of San Pedro, close to the actions and hot spots. Belizeable beach front and unique Island ambiance(first hotel in SP). Be aware certain nights can be loud from beach bars. Sunday and Monday nights were quite, Tuesday night with Tackle Box being the hot spot, you can either be part of the crowds or wait till the bar is closed to get any sleep.

Nice running routes on the beach south or north to beat jet lag and some speedy sightseeing, sunrise approx 0603.

Did Hol Chan/Shark Ray Alley with Searious Adventures, the reef was in great shape with the abundance of sea life's.

Great breakfast or lunch at Celi restaurant across the hotel. Awesome restaurants were Blue Grill, Elvi's and Caprice for fusion styles seafood. Rented a Golf cart and drove north to Palapa Bar. Great ambiance for drinks, especially floating on the inner tubes while they lowered you a bucket of beer. Food was so so.

Cons: I had read previous reviews, warning about the bar noise but thought we would be OK with a mid-week booking. We then had to alter dates after a passport snafu delayed our trip by 3-days, so our first night at the Holiday was Saturday, Feb 22, 2014. With our bad luck, this just happened to be a scheduled annual Carnival party event at the Holiday bar. We were initially to have a room above the bar, but were given a different room that was available. Even several rooms away, the music noise level was far too loud to sleep, even while we used ear plugs. The music finally stopped at 3 a.m.
The next night it was quiet at the Holiday but another party was blaring music at an adjacent bar, although not as bad as the previous night.
Pros: The bed, shower, AC, and room cleanliness were acceptable, (but I would not recommend staying at this hotel during any weekend.)

Room Tip: If there is a party here or nearby in the bars, you will not sleep regardless of room locations. Use caution in scheduling a stay at this hotel and make it midweek.

We booked into the Holiday Hotel for only one night as the condo we were staying at couldn’t accommodate us for our last day/night in San Pedro. It was clean and comfortable but a bit noisy (we had room #3 which was above the kitchen) with the restaurant/bar next door.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 - 6 are above the kitchen, try to book in one of the other buildings.

I have mixed feelings about this property. In one hand it is well located, right in front of the ocean; in the other, it is hard to work in the rooms, the front porch or the restaurant. Since I was there for business, I will have to say that it is not the best option. The internet is unreliable and there is no desk to work in the room. The electric outlets are just a few and poorly located in the room. The room is good size and clean, the bed is comfortable. The TV is still the old big box; it seems to be time to get some flat screens. The hotel does not offer breakfast; they recommend the "deli" across the street. This is not a good idea if you like good coffee or some options to eat. You will need to walk around to find a good breakfast. The lunch and dinner menu at the property is decent but the taste is average, there are options. Finally, at check out make sure you check your bill, just in case. We had to spend some time reviewing and agreeing on some charges. If you are a chocolate person, between 9.30 am and 5 pm and just 25 meters from the property is the Chocolate Boutique, highly recommended.

Room Tip: I was told that rooms between 4-7 are good options but not sure.

My sister and I stayed at Holiday Hotel in January for what was meant to be a 2 night getaway from the mainland. We loved Holiday Hotel so much that every morning we extended our stay- until we had been staying there for over a week! Not only is Holiday Hotel in prime San Pedro location but it is an institution! Passed down through the generations, Holiday Hotel began as just one building and has slowly expanded over the decades. Ask any Ambergris Caye local (or frequenting expat) and they will tell you that you have made the perfect choice in accommodation. On the beach (with its very own beach massage parlour), in the main part of town and central to absolutely everything- Holiday Hotel is a holidayers dream. We can not speak highly enough of our most favourite barman ROADY or the lovely security guard Dion. These guys are Belizean island hospitality at its finest. Roady would greet us (by name) with a smile every single day. He had great tips on local swimming and drinking spots and makes the most incredible Pina Coladas and Dirty Bananas. The food is great, the service is impeccable and the experience is second to none. After the first night you know you've made the right choice in accommodation, after three days you'll feel like family. You will NOT regret this choice. Say Hi to Roady and Dion for me.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper request a room away from Luna Loca- the reggae beats may have you dancing in bed.
