As others have noted, this is an unexcavated site so you need some imagination--and lots of bug spray--as well as a willingness to explore lightly marked trails and just enjoy being there. The pottery shards, shells, and other artifacts around the site offer interesting clues about what life here would have been like, and the signs, although not plentiful, are helpful. The boardwalk through the mangroves, the poisonwood trees, and the large iguanas add an element of adventure that's refreshing after a few days in civilized San Pedro--and your admission fee goes to a good cause.
