“Su Casita Es Nuestra Casita”

Their Casita felt like our own! Karen and AC made my companion and I feel like family. Karen met us at the San Pedro Airport with a hug, and then, after taking us to the Casita ( located 1.5 miles south in residencial San Pedro ) proceded to take us in her golf cart shoping: supermarket, breadstore, wine store, best produce stand, ATM, and then informed us should we require her able assistance more, to simply let her know ahead of time and she would arrange time to "ferry" us about the more. One night AC cooked us a Belizean meal. AC is a certified diving guide for those of you interested in taking "the plunge," and while driving about San Pedro one evening on a dinner outing, we discovered that between Karen and AC, they must know most of the locals on the caye; not surprising given the overt freindliness of the pair. The Casita itself consists of a combined kitchen/living area with full bath ( heavenly hotwater shower ) and bedroom toward the back. Flat screen multi-channel TV in bedroom, A/C, excellent Wifi reception. The space is ideal for a couple. However, the couch doubles as an additional bed. The kitchen supports all needed appliances to cook a full meal. The lovely shaded front yard, with multiple places to sit and relax, is a real bonus. Situated a block off the main road, the Casita is two blocks from the beach where, by agreement, guests of the Casita may use the pool at Meta Rocks Resort. After a day on the beach and the water, it is a treat to retreat a short distance in land and there enjoy the quiet cool of this little residential home.

We loved staying at the Mayflower Casita! It was cozy, comfortable, and had all the comforts of home. It's close to the beach, but still offers privacy and quiet surroundings. We spent a lot of our time sitting outside the Casita enjoying the beautiful garden. Our hosts (Karen & AC) were so helpful with finding daily activities and the best places to eat. The highlight of our trip was the evening Karen and AC had us over for a fantastic meal with their wonderful friends. They were amazing hosts, and they made us feel like family. We look forward to returning to the Casita!! :)

What a wonderful week I had at the Mayflower Casita. Karen is the person in 'personal service'. I was treated more like family that a guest. The Mayflower Casita is very clean and comfortable. The casita is located less than a block from the beach, where the restaurants and bars are just a stroll up the beach. The dive boat picks you up right on the beach. Make it a point to have AC cater a meal for you. It is home cooking you can't get at home, simply wonderful. I'm looking forward to going back this summer.

“Casita has comfort and character!”

From the minute Karen picked us up at the airport in her bright red golf cart, we felt welcomed and at ease. The casita is spacious, clean and modern - and the shower has a shower head that rivals all shower heads!! The air conditioning was most a God send at night!! Just like the big resorts, the casita grounds are raked every morning. The bed (and sofa bed) are very comfortable and the kitchenette was wonderful to enjoy meals at "home". The casita is in a very quiet, clean residential area of San Pedro and is within walking distance of farmer's markets, golf cart rentals, grocery stores, liquor stores and restaurants. 2 minutes from the casita the "water world" was ours - we had the use of a beautiful resort pool, as well as miles of beach to gaze and take in the beautiful Belize reef. With the owner's connections to scuba diving and snorkeling operations in the area, it was very easy to book the certification course and subsequent dives. Karen and AC are a wealth of information on San Pedro - they know where to buy "Belkin" beer for the best price, which bar serves drinks for less, - and which restaurants to choose for extraordinary meals. Karen and AC are down to earth people who went above and beyond to make our stay not only enjoyable and relaxing - but memorable. We'll be back!!

“Perfect spot to experience and enjoy San Pedro”

Karen greeted us with a hug at the San Pedro airport and we picked up some supplies on our way to the casita. We were pleased at the look of the casita and the cleanliness of the interior. Very nice! The yard was setup with chairs, loungers, and cushions just as pictured, We have visited San Pedro multiple times so were familiar with the area and have local friends. (see pics of cerviche and lobster) The beach is just a short walk and you can use the facilities of local establshments. The casita is located on a quiet street where you feel safe and secure. Our hosts Karen and AC were absolutely the most fun. Karen keeps things going on the home front checking, cleaning, visiting, etc. and AC can connect you to any tour you wish. We spent much of out time relaxing in the yard (which has beautiful vegetation) with Karen, AC, and our friends. The day we left was one of those you dread as the closeness we had with our hosts and our friends was special and not something you want to leave behind. So we will just have to go back! The casita is perfect for a home base but the human component is what will make your stay most memorable. Highly recommended.

“Home away from home”

This was an amazing place. The place was very comfortable and spacious. The hospitality was more than expected. The owners made sure we got tucked in soon as we got there. They were very knowledgeable about the area and where to go. We enjoyed the quiet space while my son and his girlfriend were able to go in town and enjoy the night life. If you want space to hang outside there was a hammock and r the chairs. There is a wonderful spot outside to relax but be sure to bring bug spray at dusk because the bugs want to come out for about an hour or so. We rented bikes for the days we were there because it is about two miles from the center of town. There are restaurants and beach close by but if you want be in the center you need to have a bike , a golf cart or plan on paying a cab five dollars each way. The owner rents bikes for five dollars a day. I would saty here agin if I returned to San Pedro.

“Best Accomodation on the Island!”

I previously spent a month in Belize with Karen, the owner of the Mayflower Casita. I highly recommend that if you are staying in Belize to stay here. You can expect to have a luxurious yet authentic experience. Karen is originally from Canada and her co-host AC is a local. Between the two they will ensure your stay is a wonderful one, they will cook amazing food for you - for a fee, although you get one complimentary meal - and help you with booking any activites or excursions. I rented a bicycle on numerous occasions which allowed me to explore like a local. While there I also went to the zoo, ziplining, cave tubing, mayan sites, and much more. Most heartwarming and welcoming environment you can stay in. I will definetly be staying here on my next visit to Belize.
