Great food, a bit away from town. This place is best for lunch or a low key dinner. I wouldn't plan a romantic dinner here. It is more like grabbing some really yummy burgers with a group of friends type place. The food is different too with special sauces that give it an island feel.

“Burgers To Die For”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

DJ's makes burgers that are so big that you have to cut them in half just to eat them! The build your own burger is the best - you can put just about anything you want, and they are so juicy you'd better grab the napkins. We tried to go back for a second round, but they happened to be closed that day (real bummer).
It's on the north side of San Pedro just about to the bridge, but don't let that deter you - you won't regret it.

“One of the best burgers I've had!!”
Reviewed 21 March 2014

Our second day our trip to Belize and we thought that that we would go into town and have a look around. We saw this bar right on the beach and thought we would just have a beer and go, but we were easily persuaded to have another and we sure are glad we did. Now when they tell you to chill, its worth the wait, thats exactly what they mean. The food takes awhile to get, but it is well worth it in the end. I got the cheeseburger and it was one of the best I have ever had. A couple of us got the chicken nuggets, fried shrimp, chicken sandwich, and all the words that came out of their mouths were wow! The bartender was also so friendly and helpful when asking where the best places were to go on the island. I would definitely go back, great place to go.

“Dont go on Sunday”
Reviewed 16 March 2014

DJ's has started to use a local 'band' That means 'music' thats a travesty to the meaning of music, played so loud with the huge bass speakers at full amplification making your head split and our house windows vibrate , non stop for 6 to 7 hours. Its ours and others ive spoken to , idea of HELL. No consideration for local residents at all. This place has totally changed from the great place it used to be. Very sad. We now spend time at Caribbean villas listening to great music , thats appreciated by all, on Sunday pm , as we are driven out of our home.

Hello Rob,

thank you very much for your review. Greatly appreciated.

Let us start off by expressing our sincere apologies for the level of noise you and your fellow residents have experienced of late with our latest Sunday live band promotion.

Since you raised this with management 3 - 4 weeks ago, we did raise this with the band and they have since brought in smaller speakers with instruction to turn down the volume at 5pm.

It is with great regret that this has not been managed better and going forward we will be ensuring the volume IS turned down at 5pm AND the band will cease playing at 7pm sharp. Plus we will look at a better set up with a mix of inside and outside speakers plus how they are positioned to better reduce the noise for the residents.

We appreciate your views on the genre of music and obviously this particular style of Caribbean music is not to your liking. That said, our Sunday "Beats at the Boca" promotion and this local Belizean band is proving to have an ever growing group of people, primarily local Belizeans, that love this style of Caribbean music. It is because so many locals enjoy this music that we put this band on and why we are trying to give back to the community and the families that frequent the Boca every Sunday afternoon.

As to your comments about how the business has changed for the worse, this saddens us greatly from both an owner, management and staff perspective as we have tried incredibly hard to achieve the opposite. New and improved menu, better customer service processes, faster turn around on food, promotions for discounts, happy hour, Karaoke Saturdays, branding etc.
So on that note, we would really welcome a chat on what part of our service, apart from the noise on Sunday, you feel we can improve. Seriously, please drop in and have a Pina Colada on the house and have a chat with Karen our Restaurant Manager, who you know and love, on what we can do to improve the experience.

Again, we are sincerely sorry that the noise has been too loud and as you can see, we take your feedback very seriously and will be doing all we can to achieve a win win for both the promotion and the local residents.
