We were in need of a rest after my having an auto accident and having lost my mom from alzheimers/dementia after caring for her. THIS was IT!

While the electricity was ify at times, and the waves were a bit too much to dive at times we still fell in love with San Pedro AND the Exotic Caye Beach Resort! Crazy Cannuk's became my husbands retreat..........

We keep saying we will be back, maybe this year............... I was thinking Tahiti, but now I'm remembering how much they made us feel like family!

It was great to watch TV and see the MAJOR snow storm back in Colorado while we were sipping Bilikean beer and eating Pizza!

There were a few problems while we stayed there but most not the fault of the resort. The power was off and then there were problems with the town water service. I can understand the problems and that the resort did not have any back up generator nor water source. Have said that I would also say that we did not play the rates (not even close) to the more up scale resorts. The people of the Exotic Caye Beach Resort make the difference, they all were great; from Josie the lady that worked so hard in keeping our rooms spotless to Don and Carol the managers. Everone was great, happy and helpfull.

Also the resort is converient to downtown San Pedro, easy walk distance to most places.

I would recommend anyone wanting to stay in San Pedro to consider Exotic Caye Beach Resort.

Have said all of the above I would like to point out to the readers that I have NO vested interest in the resort and never heard about it until my sister inlaw planned their wedding there. (The resort went out of they way to make the wedding a succes.)

Anyone can contact me if they want any further information.

The place is kind of dumpy - the only good thing is Monkey Bites restaurant - we ate there every morning. The a/c is in the bedroom and doesn't cool the kitchen/living room area at all. We were on the ground floor and the bedroom window opened onto a pathway from the nearby bar. It was EXTREMELY loud until about 3am when everyone decided to go home. I would not recommend this place.
