“Off the beaten path”

After staying in the middle of San Pedro on our last trip, we decided we needed a little more quiet. The RCR was just the ticket. The property was very clean located right on the beach. With the Victoria House next door, great drinks and food were right around the corner. The hotel has parking for your golf cart as well. The pool was very clean and refreshing, but the best thing about RCR was the staff! They are so amenable and friendly - for them alone we will be back.

Room Tip: Room 2 has an excellent view of the beach. Room 29 is by the swimming pool and sleeps 3.

I stayed at the RCR during the slow season in 2013, it was very clean, quiet and I had a great time. I returned to San Pedro during the busy season 2014 to see if there was any difference in the quality of my experience on San Pedro and the RCR. I am happy to say that there was not, if anything my experience improved. The staff at RCR and the people of San Pedro are very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is far enough away from town to be very peaceful but close enough to walk, ride a bike or take a very short inexpensive cab ride to any restaurant/bar. The pool is huge and super clean. The RCR is hard to beat considering location, price, accommodations and top notch staff.

Room Tip: Any room is good, they are all a very short walk to the beach, dock or pool.

Our favorite place that we stayed at on the island. Comfortable bed, clean rooms, very quiet area. Casitas are spacious with 1/4 of a kitchen. Hot water and A/C worked the whole time. Bike rentals were clutch and reasonably priced. The concierge even compensated me for the taxi transfer from the water taxi dock! We will definitely return here - unbeatable value. There is also very good fishing nearby.

The Royal Caribbean was a great place to stay. It was very clean. It's a short distance from downtown so I found it to be nice and quiet. All the staff members were very courteous and polite. The best feature of the hotel for me was the large swimming pool. It was lovely and it's located just a short distance from the ocean so it made for a great view.
I would certainly stay here again.

A home away from home. The cleaning lady Miss Sarah is very accommodating; as well as Gilbert and Almira in the office. You can book all your tours in the office. All tours pick you up at the end of the pier. The pool is clean and a great place for visitors to hang out. They have golf carts and bicycles for rent - a lot cheaper than downtown. The Maintenance and grounds staff are also very friendly. I'll be back!

Room Tip: If you want WIFI in your casita, you need to ask for the casitas closer to the office.

Adorable cabanas or some called them casitas because they are these cute one bedrooms with beautiful foliage around a nice beach and a gorgeous pool. In front of some of the cabanas there is this cool fruit I never saw before, Pitango, orangey-red, small like a cherry, that you could pick and eat right off the hedges. Very cool.

When you swim in the Royal Caribbean Resort pool you see the Caribbean. Definitely the best pool south of the town. And very romantic. The resort is over a mile from town which is great if you like quiet and tranquil. The dive companies pick you up off the resort pier. You can rent a golf cart or take taxis for $5 to get anywhere. There is new management who said they are planning to rebuild the restaurant bar and redo the pier which really needs it. For meals, it's a 15-20min walk to some good restaurants. If you go north, there's a little place on the road on the left side (just past what they call escalante) where you can get the freshest, best fish dinner for the best price on the island.

Almi and Hilberto, the Royal Caribbean Resort managers are great - really friendly and super helpful - really accommodating for whatever we needed. There are some really fancy places on Ambergris Caye. This place is down to earth and so were the guests. Great people who enjoy meeting the local people, eating Belizean food, diving, jungle trips and just generally really friendly. A great place.

Room Tip: All the cabanas are the same but some are closer to the beach, some face the pool. Depends on what...

This hotel looks exactly as pictured on expedia and on Royale Caribbean's website -in a good way. Front office staff [Almira and Gilbert] were very helpful in booking tours and making ground transportation arrangements. The casita was very clean, and the little kitchenette came in handy for preparing snacks and small meals. I would give the Room a higher rating if it had a phone for local calls and more shelves in the bathroom for toiletries/cosmetics near the sink. But definitely an excellent value, I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friend!
BONUS: free bottled water available in front office and lots of satellite movie channels in English language. Free wireless in office area also a good feature.

This is ideal hotel for couples, singles, ie, adult travelers. It is quiet with basic amenities [large, clean swimming pool and small private beach] and perfect if you intend to do a lot of excursions for water sports and want to venture into town for most of your meals/nightlife or just catch up on reading or naps on the beach!
