We stayed 7 nights between Christmas and New Years. The rooms were very clean. The 2 times we ate at the restaurant it was delicious. We brought in our catch of the day and they prepared it for us. Get the Mayan style fish, it was unbelievable.
I did not have much interaction with the staff other than checking in and out. They were pleasant and seemed helpful.
There is not a swimming beach here! it is shallow and full of Turtle grass. The dock is long and we caught a few fish from it but still...Turtle grass. We did not spend much time at the resort.
There was not a party type atmosphere there. Most people were either in their rooms or not there at all. It was a little too quiet for me. If quiet is what you are looking for, I highly recommend it.
We spent most of our time either fishing, diving or in town.
You definitely need a golf cart here ($250-$300 US for a week) If you get a taxi negotiate the price first. $6 or $7 Belize from the resort to town.
All the dive and fishing shops will pick you up at the dock at the resort. All in all it was a nice place but I would stay closer to town next time.

Situated on a beautifully groomed lot on the south side of San Pedro, RCR is a very well done get away with quaint, clean little cabins on a very nice stretch of Caribbean beach (despite the seagrass). Our family of 3 adult couples were here for 10 days over the xmas/new years holiday and absolutely loved it. RCR is a very relaxing place with a great staff (Nando and Nick are the best and will go out of thier way to make sure all of your needs are met, from calling cabs to setting up events and reservations to giving honest opinions on local restaurants and services. Also just a great couple of guys to sit and chat with, thanks guys!). About 2 miles from town via a nice walk down the beach, there are seemingly endless choices of bars and restaurants to choose from. Another huge bonus is the onsite bar and restaurant The Sandbar, operated by Dave, Laura and the evercharming Tucker (greeter/yellow lab) and the bartenders Sho and Dion. These folks are also extremely accomidating and fun and the menu is very tasty and family freindly. We all agreed the was one of our best family trips yet and can't wait for a chance to return. 2 thumbs way up!

This resort was just what we needed. We loved the idea of being in a resort, but separated for privacy. The beach side cabanas gave us the privacy. They are much larger inside than they look in the pictures. They are modern and very clean. Bed was comfortable. We chose the week before the tourist rush starting 12 /13-12/20. There was some activity but not too much to be frustrating. Nando and Nick, the resort management staff were superb! They helped retrieve lost snorkel equipment, exchange a golf cart with an issue and make reservations for tours. We didn't have to do anything but relax!

The resort restaurant and bar, the 'Sandbar' was convenient and the food was great. It was a great place to 'hang out' at the end of the day. met lots of folks..many staying at other resorts who would walk down the beach for drinks and/or dinner. David and Laurie, the owners were fun and the source of much local info.

We had a great week and would highly recommend to those who are looking for quality at a reasonable price. This is the real deal!

I just got back from San Pedro and stayed the the Royal Carribbean for the week. The pictures do not do this place justice. II was absolutely beautiful, my favorite part being the pool outlooking the sea. I loved going out at night by the pool and looking at the stars. The rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable. Amneties included: a/c, cable tv, and a kitchen with a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, utensils. Free internet is available in the main office. The staff was really nice and very accommodating. I also liked the fact that we were just enough out of town where it was quiet and got to savor the beauty and serenity of the island, yet close enough that we could walk into town or ride our bikes if we wanted to. There is also a bar/ restaurant called Sandbar next door where we would go for drinks and hang out with the owners and bartenders. Overall a great experience and I would definately stay here again!!

We have just returned from our stay at the Royal Caribbean resort. We spent a week on the Amergris Caye, and lets just say although we enjoyed it, it is a really good idea to check the time of year you are going to stay.

Out of 50 + bungalows there were only 2 occupied and that included ours! Because we were so totally out of season the pool and the resturant were closed and the bar was only open when the staff were refurbishing the tables.

Because we were out of season, the resort was a little bit of a mess with workmen repairing the surrounding bungalows, gardeners cutting and replanting the shrubs, and the beach was a bit of a mess after the storms.

Otherwise the place was perfect, although we really recommend getting a load of food in the bungalow as there are no near places to get breakfast, unless you fancy a 20 min walk into town or trying to get a cab (the cabs stop about 5 mins up the road at the Banyan bay resort).

The huts were perfectly clean, with maid service every day and the microwave and fridge was adequate. There was also saterlite TV for when the storms hit and you have to stay insdie!Although it would be nice if they had a BBQ available for guest as those at Xanadu have. (Just a suggestion)

I loved it there, but some others may find it was too quiet and well out of town. I am positive in the hight of the season that the resort is jumping, but at the start of October either enjoy being alone or make the trek into town to make friends!
