I had the dubious pleasure of staying at the Blue Dolphin for a week in February 2017. From the moment I booked the vacation to the time we left the island, it was a complete pleasure. Dr. Mark and Joan helped us figure out the transportation to/from airport/resort. They recommended and facilitated booking two tours for our group of 10 women. The resort itself is so beautiful you don’t want to leave – the pool is a great place to hang out and relax. Gloria and Armando were very accommodating and helpful. We had two meals prepared by them – local food prepared to perfection! The location is great - close enough to town to make it easy to run in for shopping, dining, exploring - and nice location for walks on the beach with easy access to nearby bars and restaurants. I highly recommend this resort to anyone considering a visit to the beautiful island of Ambergris Caye.
We went and stayed at Blue Dolphin for 12 days, with 7 couple's. It was such a beautiful place and the care takers really went above and beyond for the 14 of us. Beautiful scenery and beautiful people on the Island. We went on boat trips, dove the blue hole, swam with sharks and ate the wonderful island food. What a amazing place.
This was my first time to Belize with friends for their 50th anniversary vacation. The Blue Dolphin is exactly like the pictures. The house was very relaxing and big enough for large families. There are 3 levels and several areas to find your own spot for "me time". The caretakers Gloria and her husband were wonderful. They can help you with any issues or any excursions. We were very satisfied with the snorkel and diving company Sea Star that Gloria recommended. The prices were reasonable and Erick our guide was so attentive to our needs. I would highly recommend them. Snorkeling off the pier or past it I would not recommend due to high boating traffic and the sargassum seaweed. We rented bikes and a golf cart which worked out great for going into town. San Pedro is a fun place to walk around, just remember that there is a $5 fee to cross the bridge with the golf cart. No fee if you bike or walk over. Caye Caulker Island is worth the trip, very different and laid back. Rojo bar had the best lobster pizza, Rendezvous restaurant had great salsa, Las Terrazas, the O restaurant is very pricey and small portions however the food was good. We also had a visit to the local clinic where the staff was very competent and friendly. They set up transportation to the main hospital in Belize City, all this was done within a few hours. Great Job!
My husband and I were married at the Blue Dolphin in May. It was the most beautiful place to start our lives together. The house itself was perfect for the group that we had. We rented the Blue Dolphin & the little dolphin for our bridal party. Joan and mark are the owners of the house they went way above our expectations. From the very beginning we were in contact via email and they helped us plan the best trip imaginable! We even rented the arch, lights over the pool and the centerpieces. It helped us and our wedding planner tremendously because we didn't have to haul those items to the house. Gloria, Armando and his son were there to help when needed. His son even cut open coconuts so my 7 year old niece and nephew. That was a great touch! I highly recommend the Blue Dolphin for all types of travelers!! Perfect for families or a group of friends!! We can't wait to come back!!
