“Great spot, Best choice!”
Reviewed 22 January 2013

Wonderful small hotel. Cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, great location next to "the split" beach and great decoration. I loved the tree in the middle of the hotel. Breakfast with a view and hammocks on the roof top terrace. AMAZING! Really enjoyed this experience.
Only a little bit more expensive than other hotels on the island, should be a little bit cheaper for what you get (breakfast could be more varied. There was no choice given, just something served). But I think this is one of the best choices you could make.
I also loved the free rental bikes to make an island tour on! Great Great Great!

Room Tip: They are all great!

We stayed here for 3 nights the first week of January. We loved the location (near everything but quiet end of street).
The staff was great. The accommodated for whatever we needed (early arrival, early breakfast, called a "cab", arranged our guided fishing trip)
Breakfast cooked by Aida was always delicious. We had fry jacks, French toast, and burritos always with fresh fruit and juice.
Our room was quite small but good nonetheless. It had a/c, hot shower, comfy bed and a stocked mini fridge ;)

We could only stay here for one night but I am glad that we did. This place was delightful!

Breakfast is served on the roof - which offers great views of the split and the ocean. It is located only steps away from the split. So, I would say it has the best location on the island! If the split is too crowded for you then you can head to the hotel's private dock around the corner from the split.

The staff were very friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. The room was very nice, but also very small. They made good use of the small space in the room, but I think it would be hard to spend more than a few days in the small space.

I wasn't crazy about Caye Caulker—just too crowded with tourists, even though the high season hadn't gotten in full swing yet—but I did like Sea Dreams. It's on the quiet end of the island, but just off the main street. You can hear some music at night from a nearby bar on the split, but it isn't too loud, and if you turn on the AC in your room it will completely drown it out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast comes with the room, and there are bikes and snorkeling equipment you can borrow for no charge. The hotel is small, with a beautiful tree growing straight up through the courtyard, and a bar/breakfast area on the roof. If I ever return to Caulker, I would probably stay here again.

My wife and I were very fortunate to return to Caye Caulker in December, and like the previous review, it was just natural to want to return to Sea Dreams Hotel!

We stayed in a courtyard room, actually the same as our previous visit!, which is perfect for a couple. The beds are probably the most comfortable we have found in Belize! The fact that such a great breakfast is included, makes this a terrific value stay.

The staff - Anna, Aida, Stephanie - as well as the wonderful and inspiring owners Heidi and Haywood - really go above and beyond to make you feel like special guests and assure your every need is attended to. Aida is such an amazingly lovely person and a wonderful breakfast chef... and she has added barkeep to the duties, a nice addition to Sea Dreams for a happy hour beverage on the rooftop. We really enjoyed getting to know her and others there.

The location - close proximity to the split, yet on the quieter western side, is probably one of the greatest appeals. We love swimming and watching the sunset from the private dock and around some of the local children.

Add in bikes available for guests, opportunity to refill your water bottles, and opportunities to support the local not-for-profit highschool, the Ocean Academy (as well as a donation box for the Vaye Caulker Humane Society!) make this just a perfect little "home away from home" for us! Thanks once again!!

Sea Dreams Hotel is a wonderful hotel! The staff is helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable with very soft sheets. The fridge (in the room) is stocked with water, sodas and local Belikin beer. The shower was hot and included soap, shampoo and conditioner. The location is fantastic and has a private dock and covered shelter, perfect for enjoying the sunset and reading your favorite book. The hotel is located close to the "split", perfect for taking advantage of the free snorkeling gear offered by the hotel. Restaurants and bars are close but far enough away to feel "off the strip." Aida prepares an incredible full complimentary breakfast and makes a mean tequila sunrise at happy hour. We had a great time and will definitely stay there again when we return to Caye Caulker.

December 2012 was our second time in Belize as well as to the Sea dreams Hotel. Our first experience was so nice that it just seemed natural to return. We were welcomed again like old friends or family by the owners and staff. The improvements made to the hotel made the experience even better this year. For starter, the continental breakfast table has been upgraded to a full breakfast served up on the roof top. It turned the experience into the feel of a bed and breakfast with the guests, owners and staff all mingling together. The local cook Aida prepared wonderful, tasty, local and varied dishes and even adjusted the menu with guests request like vegetarian meals. The place turns into a bar for guests for happy hour every night as well. They also stock up the room fridge with beer and soft drinks at a decent price as well, and bottled water for free. A new covered area on the roof with 2 hamacs provides a wonderful secluded place to read and enjoy the sea breeze. Another covered area on the dock is also a great addition. The stairs to walk into the water at the end of the dock collapsed during our stay but were replaced promptly so we could continue enjoying our swim and snorkel with fishes and rays. The courtesy bicycles are showing signs of fatigue but were still a treat to explore the small island and fetch our refreshments and snacks at local stores. When we mentioned neighbours dogs kept us up one night, we were upgraded to a different room without having asked at all. We truly feel everyone tried their very best to make each and every guests experience the best possible, and they succeeded. We highly recommend Sea Dreams hotel, and we will be back.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a kitchenette. We are excellent cooks and usually love cooking for ourselves even on...
