We came back from a snorkeling trip and went in search of a late lunch. My husband had a Cuban sandwich about $12 US, kind of pricey but fantastic. I had grilled shrimp, it was on skewer with shredded cabbage and a bottle of salad dressing, plan white rice, and instant mashed potatoes. It was a special, and was about $15 US....it had no seasoning, I stirred it together added some salad dressing to give it flavor. It came with a yummy Mojito, definitely the best part of the meal! My daughter had a Mexican dish that she enjoyed, tasty and in the $10 range...probably the best thing we tried. We had great fast service and enjoyed the cute tables with the sea breeze. We found that mid afternoon is not the time to eat in most of the restaurants, they don't close, but seemed to be low on staff.

We were biking to dinner and trying to decide which restaurant to choose when a random taxi driver saw us and suggested we try Rose's for seafood. W
From the street-side "menu" we picked a medium spiny lobster (40 BZ$) and a hogfish (30 BZ$) grilled. You pick two sides - we both had the carrot/cabbage/lime salad plus coconut rice and potatoes. We enjoyed the dinner but it struck me when paying the 95 BZ$ tab + tip that we just had a $50 dinner. This is probably not what most vacationers want to pay, so try their lunch menu, or plan on this amount and either way - enjoy! Cool element we want to replicate - floats with holes drilled in them and a light bulb inside!

Great place to go and eat fresh seafood grilled to perfection. You get to pick from the days catch as you walk in and decide how you'd like it. I recommend the grill. Its a nice large open space with a bar in the middle. Great tropical feel. A lot of food so you will leave full. Definitely put this on your list for dinner places in Caye Caulker. It's on my top 3 list.

Reasonably priced, but amazing food. Their whole fish was just perfect. The flavors are amazing. I left satisfied but feeling healthy. Nothing too oily

We went to Roses tonight knowing that we would pay a little more than some of the other places on Caulker. We have been all over Belize from Hopkins to San Ignacio to Belize City in the past two weeks and have gotten a pretty decent idea of what you 'should' pay for most meals. We never imagined that we would pay the price of three two-person meals for average seafood and undercooked chicken kebobs (my wife felt a bit weird after eating them; the only meal in two weeks in Belize that either of our stomachs were bothered at all). The ceviche was good not great and we each had two (local, typically inexpensive) drinks. In the end, we paid $50 US for subpar food in a so-so atmosphere (they also don't have a menu so you get to guess what the price will be). The fact that we didn't see a single local eating while we were there should have told us all we need to know. This place is over-priced and kind of gimmicky and you can get a WAAAYYY better value at many other places on Caulker.
