“Food ok after 45 mins...”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

We ate there a few nights ago after being referred from the property manager of the place we were staying. We arrived and sat at the bar. Drinks were cold... After our 3rd drink we started to wonder if we were going to have to go back in the kitchen to help cook our food. 45mins from time of order to get chix kabobs w/ sides. The food came out hot and was not anything special, but I think after sitting for a while, we were also hungry.
Definitely not a place I would go back to or refer.

“Good but not great”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

Roses was highly recommended by several locals so we decided to try it out on our first night. The food was pretty good, but not great. Service was okay - took awhile to get our food. It was nice picking out your own seafood for dinner. We ate at several other smaller and cheaper places during our stay and found them to be superior to Roses.

“terrible on every level”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

This place was referred to us by several people on the island. We were sat right away but then waited over ten minutes for a wait staff person. Eventually I had to get up and go interrupt her conversation with another staff member with our drink order.Flies all over the place. Food took forever and was bland and greasy. I would definitely recommend eating out of a dumpster before trying this place.

“Worth a visit and maybe twice!!!”
Reviewed 24 July 2014 via mobile

Fantastic grilled lobster at a duper reasonable cost! Always accommodating with the sides and a nice atmosphere. Long tables to sit and meet others as well as more secluded spots.

Enjoyed the Lobster so much went back a second time for the same meal and was just as satisfied!

Lots of parking for your bikes! ;)

“Finally someone figured out how to grill fresh seafood YOU pick”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Roses has just built an excellent new restaurant to replace the old original. It's a very impressive mammoth thatched roof open air spot. Big bar in the middle of the restaurant and lot's of tables to choose from.
For decades no one figured out that people want the fresh seafood from right down the block to be grilled for them. Picking out your type of meal from the on ice display on the street is the way to go. The man on the grill is one excellent cook. As a 35 year 'resident' of the caye, I had one of the best barracuda meals ever. Perfect in every way. In addition we were lucky enough to hit on a night when they had fresh stone crabs from the back of the island. Not everyday you get a chance to have these tastiest of crabs. I prefer them to lobster by a long shot. You have to pay US prices here, but for a nice night out, it's well worth it.
The service can be slow at times, but it's BELIZE....you just don't know how good things are today compared to the 'old' days. If you're in a hurry...generally, you're in the wrong place.
They are obviously very successful as the new building is about 3 times the size of the old place, and the selection continues to grow on the menu. Picking out your dinner, whether a fish, a filet, a lobster or crab, this formula is a winner.
