“Great place to relax”
Reviewed 14 March 2013

Colin and Linda have done a great job in creating a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay in Caye Caulker. They give very helpful restaurant recommendations and providing bicycles for their guests is a nice touch. Their cabanas aren't luxurious, but they are very clean and comfortable. I really appreciated the always full jar of coffee beans and grinder.

My husband and I stayed a week at Colinda Cabanas. We had high expectations, but Colin, Linda, and their staff exceeded them! The owners themselves visited similar vacation properties, in order to identify all the amenities they appreciated while traveling. We like to cook while traveling, as well as go out for meals, so we appreciated that our oceanfront suite's kitchen was stocked with toaster, coffee maker, coffee grinder, hot water pot for tea, blender (for those yummy tropical rum drinks!), starter supply of coffee beans, basic spices, olive oil, and a good supply of dishes and cookware. Not all units include a full kitchen, but many restaurants and sidewalk food vendors are within a short walk or bike ride. Other thoughtful touches- clothesline, hammocks, access to kayaks, snorkeling gear, bicycles with baskets, extra blankets and pillows, purified water. The property is very well kept, and units are cleaned thoroughly daily. Colin and Linda are very friendly and willing to share information about area attractions, restaurants, etc. Note re a previous post suggesting booking directly with Colin: we appreciated the help provided by Caye Caulker Rentals (the booking agent), as they had a taxi waiting for us at the airport, and another waiting for us at the water taxi dock when we arrived on the island. It was very easy and organized for us- nice since it was our first time planning our own way to Caye Caulker.

My wife I had the pleasure of staying at Colinda Feb 25 thru March 2. What a wonderful time! The the accommodations were perfect with a fully equiped kitchen and wonderful views(unit 9 upper level). All guests have free access to bikes, kayaks and snorkel gear. Exercise included swimming and running around the island a couple times. What is not mentioned in their advertisement is that all units have bottled water(5 gallon container). However we had no problems with the water out of the tap. The pier was excellent for lounging in the hammocks or chairs. The fishing off the pier- it was great! Barracuda and Snapper. Enough to grill for everyone- nothing like fish tacos and rum drinks! We met a lot of very nice people including Colin and Linda, who can be described nothing less but as the perfect hosts. Thanks everyone,we will be back!

Room Tip: upper level of any of the cabanas, but I sure the lower level would also be fine

We were coming to Belize to get married and had a small group with us. We had 4 rooms booked (different styles). After all the great reviews I had high expectations and they completely exceeded them. We all loved this place. Everyhing we needed was supplied in our cabana (the new oceanview suite) dishes, bicycles, umbrellas, toaster the list goes on and on.WE had the best housekeepers ever Rosita and the other I cant rememeber her name, they were pickier than we were about our room. We tipped them well because they derserved it. Linda and Colin are on top of everything and keep this place beautiful. This is one of those places that I hate giving a review on because I want to keep it for myself. If you decide to go BOOK EARLY or you wont get in. I highly suggest the oceanview suite and the ocean front suite was great too. Thanks Linda and Colin for putting up with our chaos, we had a great time and totally love your place. Will be back!!!

Room Tip: stay towards the front of the hotel for better ocean breezes if the room you have doesnt have air co...

Just on the edge of town, so you feel close enough to the action (whatever action is to be had in Caye Caulker - GO SLOW), but far enough for relaxation, Colinda's is a great place.

We went from Ramon's in San Pedro to Colinda's which was quite a difference, but we LOVED and preferred it. It truly felt tropical and like we were doin' some simple island livin. Our room was clean and freshened every day, well-equipped, and on a beautiful part of the beach. They have their own pier with hammocks and lounge chairs, and each cabin or cabana has a great little deck equipped with its own hammock. Believe me, relaxation is the theme. Plus, they provide everyone with bikes so that you can explore the island at a LITTLE faster pace than walking.

Colin and Linda are amazing people - gracious, lively, humor-loving folks who know WHERE to go on the island for good eats and good times. Upon check-in, they walk you through the island and point out some restaurants and other attractions (including good dive shops and grocery stores), as well as where the cheapest places are, and some good biking trails and how to explore the island.

We met some really great people at Colinda's including Phil ("Flipper"), who's cabana was across the way from ours, and who gave my husband excellent local fishing tips and stories. Colinda's has a great little grill in case you catch the motherload, like our fellow Colinda's guest, Andy, and want to share your catch with the rest of the guests with a fish fry. Everyone brings out their rum they've been hoarding, some juice, some snacks, gathers around, and has a good old Caribbean potluck. I've seen evidence of other such similar gatherings on the Colinda's site and here on T.A., so I imagine it's a common thing.

Anyway, we REALLY loved it - THANK YOU, COLIN AND LINDA! We had an amazing time, and will definitely be back.

We stayed for five days in February, not long enough. The rooms were very clean, beds comfortable, bathrooms nice and big and the view was amazing. We had a beach side unit and wow describes it. They provided bikes to get around, have beverages for purchase when you run out. The dock with the hammocks at the end were perfect for the quite, shady times to relax. 10 min. anywhere on the island by bike.
We will be back.
Amazing sunrise.

Linda, the owner, was awesome. This is the best place on Caye Caulker. We heard a lot of people complaining about the other places to stay. Make sure to lock your bike up, mine was stolen first night, but then found the next day. The dock is amazing. You can see sting rays all the time right off of it. At night the views off the dock are AMAZING. Be sure to jump on the dock at night...lol.. the are bioluminescence all around..when you jump it glows!! Cant beat the views.
