“Called Vista del Mar now”
Reviewed 22 January 2014

We stayed here two nights as this was all we could find available upon arrival in Caye Caulker. We had a double room with private bath, I think it was room 17. Others seem to have had hot water but we did not in our room. Our window opened directly to the balcony of the inn next door and it was really loud both day/night.

At only $30 US/night, it was an affordable option, but not great, so we moved on after two nights.

Yuma was booked out, this was the second option but worth staying. Seems to be renovated recently, it's pink now.

Simple but clean, great view from large 1st floor veranda, central location, hot water with normal pressure, working Internet connection ...

Good snorkelling tours can be arranged (even last minute) by E Z BOY TOURS just across the street - highly recommended. You just jump out of the room in their boat ...

We stayed at the Mira Mar hotel for one night on the tail end of our Belize vacation. We originally tried Mara's Place, but it was booked out. So we stumbled on Mira Mar, which seemed like a decent budget option. It was an OK place. The pros were the location - pretty close to the Split - and the porch area overlooking the main strip. It's also right next to the Oceanside night club, which proved to be the best late-night place. Cons: the rooms were in pretty poor condition, no air conditioner, and low water pressure in the showers. We certainly stayed in better places in San Pedro and Placencia, while paying the same amount.

As a backpacker, I wasn't expecting much from this place. It was our second choice because Yuma's was booked. I stayed in a private room with a shared bath. The sheets had mystery stains on them, the pillows were overstuffed and lumpy, the wifi was nearly impossible to connect to. HOWEVER, there was hot water!! The view from the front porch was awesome. Walking around the island all day brings in a lot of sand, and inventiably into your bed. Wish they would invest in door mats for each room or something. My room (#3) had black mold on the ceiling. The hostel itself was very quiet and tame. Bring TP, they seem to like to only put one roll in per day and not refill it.

Great budget hotel with a great view. The family is very nice... we stayed only 2 nights here and want to come back in June. The upstairs lounge area is great and it is a perfect location between both ends of town. We stayed in room 15 downstairs and had a little view. Next time we are going to request 16 because it is upstairs. Highly recommended!

Laid Back Place with a Great View... Simple, real clean, run by a very nice family and can't get a better price with that view... Perfectly located The best thing is the hammack :)
It's 10 US for a single room
At this price you can stay a long time.... 3-4 days ain't enough for Caye Caulker
