“Best hotel on the island!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 March 2014 via mobile

It was our first time on Caye Caulker and I'm glad we booked here. One of the few with a pool and the nicest pool we saw. Eric was a good host feeding the birds and pointing out bat fish and sea horses. Loved being on backside with a great deck - saw a dolphin back there and sunsets. Free 1 hour kayak rental was great. Breakfast was good and a little hardier than your standard continental with yoghurt and granola. Yummy cinnamon rolls. Very comfortable.

Our first time to Caye Caulker and our first time staying here. We loved the location, the accomidations, Liz, Eric, and Otis. Liz is like a good friend and made us feel right at home, and Eric was the young man who organized our tours, flights, and came in the morning with freshly baked cinnamon buns from "Glenda's." Otis made us amazing sunset drinks we thoroughly enjoyed on the dock. We swam off the dock, and at night watched stingrays swim under the dock. We were pleasantly surprised with our rooms, the great beds, and comfy pillows, so nice at the end of a great day. The resort is 2 short blocks from Front Street and it is so so peaceful at night. We felt like we were the only ones on the island enjoying the stars. This did not feel like a commercial property, but more like home. We hope to be back next year.

We loved our time at the Iguana so much, we came back twice. Otis, Liz and Eric were all amazing and went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. Eric organized a boat to take my husband to San Pedro at 5am so he could dive with the company he wanted to for his blue hole trip. The beds were super comfy and the pool had the perfect lounging setting. We will be back!

Although this is one of the most expensive places on Caye Caulker, it is also the best. The room and property were kept in immaculate condition. The deck on the back affords guests some of the best sunsets on the island. The rooms are spacious with modern décor and are also quite warm and welcoming. The location is next to a diving business so if you are interested in that it is easily accessible. You can walk to most locations on the island from this property in less than 5 minutes. I would definitely spend the extra few dollars to stay at this establishment. It will be well worth your extra penny. Iguana Reef Inn also has a free kayak that you can use which is awesome. My wife and I used it to kayak around the island north of the split. The bar and pool are awesome too! I highly recommend Iguana Reef Inn for your stay on Caye Caulker!

Room Tip: Any room at Iguana Reef Inn is outstanding. The deck on the back of the property allows to see some...

We knew the Iguana Reef Inn would be the most expensive place we stayed at while in Belize, but we wanted to have a couple of nice nights at a "resort" like place while on Caye Caulker, and this place delivered. We stayed in Room 9, facing the west toward the ocean.
Iguana Reef Inn is close to the water taxi dock, just a couple of blocks really, so it isn't hard to carry your bags to the Inn (you don't need to get a golf cart taxi).
Because Iguana Reef Inn is on the west side of the skinny island, it is a short distance away from the main street - which means it is quiet. There are a bunch of clubs catering to tourists on Caye Caulker, but we heard none of their late night revelry.
We had two continental breakfasts here: yogurt w/ granola, fruit, bread, rolls and juice.
The room is big and clean. Plus, it has a safe, which is really handy for when you need to leave your passport and wallet behind when you take a snorkeling trip (don't miss Hol Chan Reserve!)
We paid a total of $370 USD for an enjoyable two night stay.

Stayed here 3 times. Wife & I have traveled thoughout belize. On Caye Caulker this is the nicest,. Staff is great. Rooms are always clean, and spaceious. Pool is nice. The "beach area" the rear of Inn on the Lagoon is a nice place to see a sunset and drink. Kayaking around the lagoon is nice. Caye Chaulkner is a must on a trip to Belize, in our opionin its one of the best "beach / island experences in Belize.....

Great hotel... clean, good bathrooms(which are sometimes hard to come by on Caye Caulker). Staff was amazing....I don't eat seafood so the Night(s) Otis cooked for us he called home and had a home cooked meal delivered for me....that meant a lot to me (THANKS OTIS' WIFE! ). Anytime we wanted to book an excursion LIZ or ALEX lined everything up for us. We will go back as soon as we can.
