This hostel was a phenomenal experience. Susanne is a great manager. It is clean, safe, convenient to everything, and the people that stay there are really cool. A great spot and highly recommended. Really nice place to kick your feet up for a few days.

I liked my 2 night stay at Yuma's. Clean sheets. Clean bathrooms. Organised and clean kitchens to cook in(1 on each of the 2 storey house).

My room faced the water and had a wonderful breeze every night. Loved the multiple hammocks around the reception area. Although breakfast isn't included in the price, you can easily find breakfast along the main street.

Room Tip: Book early for a slot in this excellent hostel or risk having to stay at some rather hairy hostel.

Cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in, even the communal kitchens! Good environment and great location right beside the taxi station. Susanne is very nice and professional and her team make everything in the hostel run smoothly. Definitely make a reservation well in advance!

This looked like one of the best places to stay at in Caye Caulker. The location is awesome - it's right next to the water taxi and right on the water, and close to many restaurants and the main road. The owner was great, I felt very safe here, and they had awesome areas to lounge in. They have 4 hammocks in the garden area, and 3 others out on the dock, all of which are in the shade if you want to escape the sun and heat and rest. There are also a lot of tables and benches where you can sit and hang out. There's a kitchen on each floor, as well as showers and bathrooms (more on the bottom floor). They have quiet hours, and even as a light sleeper, I always got a good night's sleep here. The fans in the room are very helpful and there's great wifi reception throughout the hostel. The only downside was that there are only cold showers, but they're tolerable after a day in the hot sun. There's a $10 BZD key deposit and towel deposit, which you get back upon checkout. I would recommend booking in advance because this is a very popular place to stay and fills up very quickly.

Room Tip: We stayed in room #6 - a four person dorm with two bunk beds. This was definitely the best room in t...

Yuma's house is clean, comfortable, sociable and centrally located right next to two of the water taxi docks. It isn't really a party hostel (quiet hours are well-respected by the guests) so if you're expecting a wild time in the hostel itself you may want to go elsewhere. Suzanne is a wonderful host the rest of the staff is very helpful and respectful. The common areas have plenty of spots to relax, and the wi-fi is fast and reliable by island standards.

We stayed in room 14 - the best room in the house as its on the corner with two windows giving you a nice cross breeze. The palm trees outside the room are constantly ruffling so it masks a lot of the noise of the island as well.

Don't expect to walk up and get a room in the high season - most people we saw walking up asking for a room were turned away during our five night stay. Make sure to reserve your room in advance. They only ask for a deposit for one night so if you don't like the place you can leave. But it doesn't get better on the island if you're looking for a hostel.

It's a great option for couples who are trying to travel in hostels as they have a few private rooms that are cheaper than hotel rooms but still give you some privacy.

Room Tip: Room 14 - book in advance if you can!

Definetely the best budget accomodation you will find on the caye, located right after the water taxi dock, really easy to find. Rooms are really clean and quite spacious for being an hostel, comfortable beds with clean sheets. The only flaw is no hot water in the showe. Suzanne is really nice, she helped us out with eveything with needed. Recommended!

We'd heard great things about Yuma's so for the first time on our trip we booked ahead. This is advisable for anyone looking to stay here during high season as it's a very popular place to stay on the island. We stayed for five nights and really enjoyed ourselves.

Dorm rooms sleep up to four in bunk beds which is a really nice size. Bedrooms come with fans and lockers to store valuables. Beds are comfy and Susanne asks if you'd like your bedding changed each morning.

The hostel itself is beautiful and is seconds from the Belize City-Caye Caulker ferry dock and is amongst bars, shops and restaurants. The communal areas at the hostel are brilliant and you can access the wifi in all of them. The outside area has plenty of swings, picnic tables and hammocks to relax or socialise in. The hostel also has two kitchens (one upstairs and one downstairs) which are kept very clean and are well stocked with everything you need to cook.

Toilets and showers are always clean and there are enough showers to guarantee that you won't have to wait for one.

Susanne and her staff are all so lovely and helpful. In regards to peoples' comments about the list of rules, I personally think that they're all perfectly reasonable. No noise after 11pm - that's completely fair enough. We went out nearly every night with others from the hostel and just took our noise elsewhere after 11. The rest of the rules are no different to any you'd get at other decent hostels; clean up after yourself in the kitchen, leave the bathroom clean after use, pay for your room before 10am each day. They're all pretty standard and just require you to have a bit of respect for other people staying at the hostel.

Thank you Susanne for a lovely stay. We may well be back one day!
