“peace and quite”
Reviewed 2 June 2013

This place was exactly what they said it would be, peaceful, restful, slow, laid back... it is clean, would recommend, enjoyed it very much. When ever we need answers to questions the ladies were right there, recommending great restaurants, taxi service, we even got a guided tour of the island, also and the boat captain will accomadate your snorkeling adventures, he is only two piers down from your room..

Room Tip: I would pick the front unit for sure, open door, instant beach experiance

The only accommodation available included a kitchen and outdoor deck with excellent views as well as a cool breeze. AC and fan was also nice for the back area of the unit. After some exploring we found fishermen willing to sell some of their catch (down by the electric plant). Fresh fish and vegetables made it exceptional. There is also a nice dock with hammocks and it is easy to cool off in the water nearby. Alas, only one bike was included in the rental price -- any additional had to be rented. Not a big deal but somewhat indicative of a less than welcoming management. The kitchen was only minimally equipped and a request for a little salt was denied. John of the staff was most helpful, so he became our go-to guy.

Room Tip: Upper level catches the breeze

Just a quick note to let our guests know....Ashley was asked for salt and did not have any to give. (She was on a salt free diet for her baby) She offered pepper since that was all she had available. Denied a request is different then not having something to give. Further, I have one bike free for each room as a convenience to my guests to run to the store etc. I do not have the space to have enough bikes to give one for every guest. I felt at least one bike beat nothing at all. I have only a couple of extras that can be rented if someone wants one on a first come first served basis. The bikes run $400 to buy and on a beach need constant repair. This is simply a nice thing to offer.

Very relaxing, clean, quiet, and well kept. Hospitality was terrific. Best value we could see in Caye Caulker. It was great to be off the beaten path, but yet close to the main strip. This would be great for an extended stay, with a full kitchen in our cottage. We'll be back!

We just returned from our stay at Barefoot Beach. It was all you could imagine, and wonderful staff too. We stayed with two other couples and were treated so wonderfully. It was just far enough from town the local traffic was minimal; if any. We really enjoyed the beach and palapa (where most of our time was spent). We were able to snorkel and swim in the beautiful water and enjoy the sea life without having to leave the comforts if our place. I would highly recommend and suggest this location. Great price and I couldn't ask for anything better!

Room Tip: For a wonderful value, great staff and away from the hustle and bustle; this is your place!

We spent four nights at Barefoot Beach. We stayed in an side-view room with an ocean front patio, which we absolutely loved and where we spent most of our time. The location of Barefoot Beach was ideal for us - about a 10 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride from town. We were out of the noise and "hustle" (if you could really call anything on Caye Caulker a hustle) of town, but still close enough to bike in three or four times a day without it being a nuisance. One small thing that made Barefoot Beach great was the presence of drinking water in our rooms. It was fantastic not having to buy water bottle after water bottle as we had been doing before. Susan and Ashley were very sweet and easygoing. There was AC in the room but it didn't seem to do much and I would recommend just opening the windows to the sea breeze. If we came back we would rent one of the rooms with the kitchenette, because Caye Caulker is not cheap and eating out three times a day was definitely pricy. We loved our time here!

We can't say enough on our experience at the Barefoot Beach. Susan, Ashley (little Shade) and John were so accommodating. We stayed there for 15 days and they made us feel like old time friends. We had cold beer in our fridge for when we arrived, which was so refreshing after a long flight and dealing with the heat. They would stop to say "hi" when we were lounging outside and constantly ask if there was anything they could assist with. I even had major hair tangling issue after a long day of snorkeling and nothing I tried would get it untangled. Susan to the rescue gave me some fantastic conditioner and even spent time helping me untangle the mess. Tell me where in the world you would get such humble attention? Thanks Susan!!!

Because I booked our accommodations last minute we stayed in 3 different units on the property with the last 10 days in the front suite. All units were very clean and had everything we needed. We look forward to staying here in the future. Thanks again to for the great stay!!!

We were only able to stay for one night, as we booked last minute, and the place was full. Susan helped us find another place to stay for the rest of the week we were on the island. She negotiated a deal for us, and said she found a place she would have her family stay in if she couldn't fit them all.
Barefoot was very nice and clean, the recommendations Susan had for us were all right on. I'd be happy to stay with them again! This time I'll book a little earlier:)
Thanks for your great help Susan!
