Stayed twice - to and from Caye Caulker. On the first visit, I initially thought reviews had been harsh, but the only friendly person was the 'Bellboy', and the room seemed fine (4th floor king 'Villa'), until others, apparently engaging in the 'Belizean drawer opening / barbell dropping Marathon' occupied the 'meeting rooms' above and neighbouring rooms.

Also found two half smoked cigarettes on our balcony, the pool deckchairs have quite a few months / years worth of bird poo on them, and reception (aside from a girl call Shakira, seem to have a massive attitude problem)...

The café staff are a bit of a mess and also don't seem to care..

Next to a place which hosts a night club on a Saturday until about 3am...as a consolation, the air-conditioning in our rooms sounded like an old Chicken bus going through the room so blocked out a lot of it

What was good?
1. You can take hairdryer from the bathroom...Good if there are 2 people sharing.
2. You can walk from the Ferry (negotiating through the taxi drivers)
3. Powder Buns in the Café - get them warmed
4. Coffee from the Café is actually quite nice, once you get the correct order
5. The sports /bar restaurant does do decent veggie options and cocktails. Staff are actually friendly there too!!
6. Wide range of English speaking tv channels
7. Villa rooms are large

Room Tip: If you're visiting the Islands, Ferries start early so you can avoid having to stay here and still catch your plane home.

The hotel is not a luxury hotel, but it is a great hotel for the price. It is one of the best hotels in Belize City. The lobby sets the tone – it’s nothing fancy, but comfortable and nice with local charm and an informal ambiance. The hotel facilities and rooms are a little worn, but are comfortable and friendly. What sets this hotel apart from even the most luxury hotels is the staff. The staff has a wonderful service attitude, but more important, all the staff - the concierge, the shuttle driver, the bell persons, the front desk staff, the restaurant staff and the housekeeping staff - are genuinely friendly and will go out of their way to accommodate your needs. This is one of the best and most friendly staffs I have experienced anywhere.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. I prefer the “colonial rooms” for their convenient location to the lobby and restaurants, but the “villa rooms” are typically slightly less expensive and not far from the central area.

If you are arriving at the airport, you should consider having the hotel shuttle pick you up. I have used this service several times and they have been on time and friendly. The fee is typically less than a taxi and can be added to your bill. You can arrange this through the concierge.

My boyfriend and I stayed one night at the hotel. Jason was very friendly, welcoming, and hilarious! The food choices and pools at the hotel were good, the staff in general were all very friendly and helpful.

This hotel in Belice City was the most expensive, overpriced tourist trap to which I have fell victim in at least a decade. The room was okay, but not for the exorbitant price. We couldn't get a king size bed in a seemingly empty hotel. The breakfast, at the Petit Cafe downstairs, was the worst food I have force fed myself in years. Please, for the benefit of future guests, destroy this cafe, burn it to ashes, and provide some real food (not soggy, microwaved bread!) for travel-weary customers. Also the swimming pool seemed to be treated with harsh chemicals (peroxide??) that bleached my shorts in a few minutes.
