When travelling I try to stay at interesting original places and try to avoid the chain hotels. So I picked this hotel.
It's a beautiful white colonial house by the sea with its typical columns, a porch, a big lobby to chill out in and a staircase leading to the rooms. Trying to describe the colonial flair here. :)
The outside and lobby of the hotel are very nice old style. Our room was for 3 people and very spacious but outdated, old carpet, dated furniture and a musty smell because of the humidity. It was fine though as it's a summer destination and one only stays at the hotel to sleep. The bathroom was modern and very clean though.
We didn't use the TV and Wifi worked fine.
There is a restaurant with a window wall with view over the ocean and a bar. The restaurant interior seems a bit 60s and doesn't really fit the colonial style, but this just as a comment not to criticise. It was beautiful to have breakfast here in the morning with the sun shining. I recommend you tell the hotel if you want to have breakfast. We didn't one time (because one normally wouldn't) and then the waitress wasn't there yet.
In 5 min you can walk into the town centre where there is a travel agent, an ATM and restaurants close by. The Swing Bridge is about 10 min by foot. We didn't walk any further than that due to safety reasons.
I think I'll return to Belize and would stay at this hotel again.
