We had great expectations of this place after reading a positive review in an old Fodor's guide book. What a shock it was upon arrival. Our $85 queen bedroom was little small, so the owner offered to move us to a larger one for the additional few dollars which was totally fine with us. The new room though with an access to a shared balcony, turned out to be stuffy, smelly and not too clean!! Dingy shower, small towels, but what really upset us was the poor breakfast next morning. They told us to be in the dining room by 8:30 because of the early flight; but the owners hardly nodded hello and made us wait for food almost an hour until other guests showed up in the dining room. Only the fruit was really fresh and good; the coffee very weak and we had to wait more than half hour for tea!! We were anxious and starved by the time they served a portion of chunky white only bread, greasy bacon and hard as a rock scrambled eggs.
Also the outside staircase is very inconvenient. The garden was overgrown, neglected and not set up for use at all!
It was the worst B &B we've ever stayed in! And it's not at all very close to the airport! I think the owners take advantage of the travelers who cannot afford one or two safe hotels in Belize City.
