My Mom and I were on a cruise and decided to dive with Sea Sports Belize. It was our best dive of our trip, went to Cozumel and Roatan also. It was one of our best dive experiences ever, Paul our captain was fantastic and Eli and Victoria were the dive masters. We had the most enjoyable time diving with this crew. They were professional and very nice making sure all of us was having a good time. I would highly recommend them. They even dropped us off right back where the tenders go back to the cruise ship when we were done!

We booked a trip with Sea Sports Belize. The staff was very helpful and nice when setting the trip up. I expected a small boat and that is what there was. We had 4 divers and 4 snorkelers (we were 2 of the snorkelers) On the date we were there, no excursions to Hol Chan was available. They told us that The island they would take us to had a decent reef to view. Once we go near the island, the snorkelers were put over the side on a sand bottom, and the boat left with the divers. We were treated to a snorkeling in rough water over a sand bottom. We eventually swam for the island. We were on the island for over an hour while we awaited the return of the divers. The reef in front of the island was shallow, broken up, and lacking sea life in general. Once the boat return we were given a lunch on the island (standing up since the island was little more than 15 feet in diameter. After lunch, we got back on the boat with the divers and then sat in the boat for over 45 minutes while they did their second tank. The divers were please with their trip. The snorkelers all felt that we had wasted our time and money. For scuba dives this shop seem very good, for snorkelers, not so much.

We did the Hol Chan / Shark & Ray Alley excursion from our cruiseship. We exited out the back of terminal 4 towards the road. Once on the main road we headed north for a block to the Sea Sport Belize office, arrived by 8:30am. Since our boat was filled with both Snorkel and Divers we had to wait another 45 minutes for the last 4 people to show up. So we had a total of 11 people plus 3 crew in a small boat. The ride to Hol Chan was over 60 minutes and 90% of the ride was rough. Sit in the back of the boat for a smoother ride. Our ride took us north past Caulker Caye to San Pedro and the Hol Chan Marine Park. There was quite a few boats when we arrived, each snorkel/dive team must have guide. We snorkeled for about 90+ minutes and part of the were just OK and other parts were awesome. A lot of turtles, eagle rays, nurse sharks and other fish. Once we were done at Hol Chan we headed to Shark Ray Alley, which was a lot shallower but they were able to feed the rays and sharks. At one time we had at least 20 rays and 10 sharks circling he boat. I was able to get some incredible close up shark photos. We stayed in the water for about 30+ minutes, and then it was off to Caulker Cay for a quick stop and lunch (turkey, chips, cookies and soda). Caulker Cay is a pretty small island, with a small town, so-so beaches, restaurants and bars. We headed to the Split Bar are the far end of the island, there was people everywhere laying out on the docks, hard beaches and concrete. We had a drink at the bar 2 beers and 1 Green Juice for $7 (good deal). We then headed back to the boat for the ride home. The ride back to Belize City was about 45 minutes, but the crew dropped us off at the terminals. So we wre able to do some shopping before grabbing the last 4:15 tender back to the ship. Overall it was a great excursion and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

My group of 3 adults had a fabulous trip with Sea Sports Belize that was the highlight of an otherwise disappointing cruise in January 2014.

Booking: Looking to make the most of our stop in Belize, I was eager to find a snorkeling trip to the reef and marine reserve. The excursions offered through the cruise line were very limited, light on the activity level, involved large groups, offered little value and did not include trips to Hol Chan Marine Park or Shark Ray Alley. Being experienced snorkelers, we were looking to move beyond the typical cruise excursion of en-mass trips with limited water-time in over crowded water.

Thanks to Trip Advisor, I was able to find the tour I was looking for with Sea Sports Belize. I booked directly with them via their website. Linda of Sea Sports kept in regular contact with me via email in the weeks before our trip, answering my many questions & confirming the details of our tour. Payment was convenient and secured with PayPal invoice.

The Tour: Departing from the Sea Sport Belize building in Belize City, our small group of 7 (4 snorkelers, 3 divers) traveled to the Hol Chan Marine Reserve off of San Pedro. The entire team on the boat was great and a pleasure to spend the day with. Victoria was our snorkel guide, Jumani lead the divers and Captain Paul operated the boat and delivered us safely and quickly to our snorkel & dive spots. Victoria is very knowledgeable, with a keen eye, identifying and pointing out various marine life in the area (turtles, and sharks and eagle rays, oh my!).

After a generous amount of time in the water at Hol Chan (at least 45 minutes), we then moved on to Shark Ray Alley to swim with nurse sharks and sting rays; it's exhilarating to be surrounded by a swarm of the large, albeit harmless, sharks - some of which were more than 6' long. We also saw a massive Goliath Grouper, hawksbill turtles, tons of horse-eyed jacks, and many other types of fish.

After we'd had our fill of swimming with the sharks, we then enjoyed a light lunch of tasty sandwiches, cookies & beverages, while we made our way to Caye Caulker for a quick visit and a little shopping.

The price of the tour included entrance fee into Hol Chan Marine park. lunch and beverages and was great value, particularly when considering the amount of in-water time that we had, and in comparison to the excursions offered by the cruise line.

Following the tour, Captain Paul delivered us directly back to the cruise terminal dock, with ample time to spare before the last tender back to the cruise ship, giving us a chance to do a little tourist-shopping at the cruise terminal.
