“Better than diving!!”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

I booked this tour company to take my friend and I from Belize City where our cruise ship docked to Ambergris Caye to snorkel at the marine park. We did the excursion with the flight over the reef and it was awesome. My friend is not a diver so we went snorkeling instead and we saw more large sea creatures on this one snorkeling trip than I have seen in over 40 boat dives. Eels, sharks, sting rays, turtles, eagle rays, grouper and so many fish varieties I lost count. The excursion was SharkRay Alley by Air. Do it, you will love it.

“Cave tubing in Belize”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

Great independent shore excursion with friendly, knowledgeable & professional staff. Since we were one of the oldest, they even carried our rafts for the long walk to the caves. The caves are beautiful and full of interesting facts. If you are on a RC cruise, you will be tendered to Belize city and will not arrive before 11:00 ship time/10:00 Belize time so plan your excursion accordingly. RC has a policy where they let the RC excursions off the ship first! What a mess, you need to be one of the first in-line and you will be waiting for over an hour to be tendered. We were an hour late getting to shore but the Ecological tour company had made arrangements for a 10:30 Belize time departure instead of 9:00, we made it back by 5:15 ST with 15 min to spare.

“Fly and dive cruise day”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

Great experience! Polite staff, great aerial views of the reef enroute to San Pedro, and professional dive services from the dive center. Timing was plus or minus a minute or two all day so no worries about catching the last tender back to the ship. We had about 45 minutes to spare to meet the last tender to Carnival Legend upon return to the Belize City port. Patricia was very responsive during planning prior to cruise. Check in process is a bit chaotic since Eco Tours is running several different tours, but the 15-20 minute wait post check in (waiting on the other flyers) was well worth the experience. We dove with Aqua Scuba center. They are punctual and VERY professional with good dives led by Roy. Dives were well briefed and were safely executed! Dive ratio was 1 instructor to 3 on the first dive and 1 to 5 on the second dive. We had a max of 5 divers total on a 43' boat... Plenty of room and nearly a private dive charter. The boat returns to San Pedro during the interval since the reef is less than 5 minutes away. Get lunch and return for the second dive. You are met at all transfer points (cruise terminal, airports, etc.) by an Eco tours or dive shop rep. In short, a great experience... I'll book again on my next cruise!

“Ambergis Caye snorkeling was fabulous”
Reviewed 27 April 2014 via mobile

We booked the Shark/Ray Aerial tour as an independent shore excursion while in Belize with a cruise. Check in was a little hectic, it was drizzly and had rained for several days in Belize. Excursions to the western portion of the area were cancelled so visitors and staff were scrambling. They don't have a lot of space in the terminal building, but I am guessing they don't usually need it.

Enough of the administratia. Soon we were loaded into a van and transferred out to a small commercial airstrip in Belize City. Despite the nasty weather we had a good flight to Ambergis Caye. We were met at the airport by our guide from Aqua Scuba and the eight walked to the dive shop, dodging a couple of short squalls. Shortly we were each outfitted for snorkeling. We made three stops, one in the Hol Chan Marine Preserve, one at the Shark and Ray Alley and one in between. Each time our leader showed us many fish, turtles and coral free diving so he could communicate better. He made sure we each had a chance to pet a hark and ray by holding them as best he could.

After a quick boat ride back to San Pedro we had time to eat and shop before reversing course to the cruise terminal. When all was said and done you couldn't wipe the smile from my face.

“AMAZING Customer Service”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise and in Belize, you have to be tendered in to the port. Our ship did a horrible job getting people off the boat and ignored our excursion because it wasn't Royal Caribbean. We didn't get into port until almost 2 hours after our excursion was set to begin. We had called Ecological Tours from the boat to tell them what was going on and they reassured us that it would be ok. When we got there, everyone but my husband and I were rushed off to meet our tours. We had an all day tour with a charter plane ride and snorkeling planned and were told we missed the plane. Then at the last minute the manager rushed us to the airport where we saw our plane take off. We were on our honeymoon and had been trying to get on our excursion since 6 am. I was so disappointed and appreciated them trying to get us there in time. We went back and tried to get on another tour but they couldn't get enough people. We had told the manager we didn't have enough money to buy another excursion so she paid out of her own pocket for us to get on with another company. She also assured us we would be refunded for our tour and put a tour guide specifically on us to make sure we had a good time. SHE WAS AWESOME AND MADE SURE OUR HONEYMOON WASN'T RUINED.
