We used Yute Expeditions for taking a student group down to Mayflower Bocawina National Park. They have multiple vehicles that are in great shape, and they supply a driver. They did a great job. They arrived early for the pickup, so there was no waiting around. The mini-bus was in superb condition, and was comfortable for everyone.

The driver, Phillip, did a fantastic job on the road, and we found him to be a very safe, and confident driver. One testament to his great driving skills: we were going from the office to the repelling site, and the road was too muddy for the vehicles at one point, so we all had to turn around, and park there. Thank God I wasn't driving, because there'd have been no way I couldn't done a 20 point turn, and gotten it turned around, but Phillip nailed it.

Phillip is also a guide. In fact, he is certified for ATM, with only a handful of other guides(NICH and Dr. Awe had only 1 certification 10 years ago). I was lucky enough to get to talk with him for a while as we watched some students repelling down the falls. He really loves what he does, and is a wealth of knowledge about Belize. He actually is part of the family that owns Yute Expeditions. Great to see that they take part in the business, and are so skilled at it at the same time.

We've used Yute before, and we'll surely be using them more in the future.

Had a great time, learned a lot and really got a sense from our guide on how special this place is. Felt very lucky to have be taken to see something so important and to understand from our guide how sacred it was. It went beyond being just a tour.

I was on a trip to Belize, March 2-11, 2012 for study abroad with my professors and classmates. Ramone was our major tour guide. He picked us up at the Belize City airport and drove us to San Ignacio. Just about every place we went, he drove us. He took us to Cahal Pech, Xunantunich, the Belize Zoo, the Garifuna Museum, several colleges, Dangringa and back to Belize City. I enjoyed going to the ruins where he would tell us about the history, plants, birds and monkeys he was very knowledgeable about everything. If you go to Belize take lots of sunscreen and BUG SPRAY!! I took over 1000 pictures on this trip and still feel like I didn't take enough, so take an extra memory card for you camera or cameras. I took 3. If you are going to Xunantunich, start using a stair stepper or take long walks starting NOW. It is a long way up to the top, but the view is worth it!! We were able to take in Cahal Pech and Xunantunich in the same day. The zoo in Belmopan is advertised as being small but it is bigger than I thought it would be. They will let you go into the jaguar cage and feed the jaguar. You will be inside a smaller cage that he can walk on top of. Several of my classmates did this, but not me! I was able to hold a boa constrictor. The mountains were beautiful as we rode from San Ignacio to Dangriga. Get a window seat to take pictures if you can. The tour bus was very comfortable and Ramone even let us play music off of our phones and ipods. We had a great time thanks to Ramone! I didn't feel like I was in a different country, I felt at home.
