“L-O-V-E-D it here!”
Reviewed 28 August 2012

Super clean. Real hot water (like, from a water heater!). An actual dining-room and a living-room and kitchen, straight out of a plantation-style home. Wonderful common areas!

The A/C was a huge treat, after a week in the tropics- and the owner was warm and smiled, when I asked for it for just one night (of our three night stay).

My partner whined that it was 2x the price of the cheaper place we'd been at the night before (Elvira's), but it was still very inexpensive. The other guests were also backpackers, and while we ended-up socializing with the folks we met at Elvira's the whole time we were there, the small collection of other world-travelling, polite and cordial backpackers, also staying there, added to the charm.

The street it was on was also wonderful: one of the best restaurants (if not thee best place!) in town was just across the street—the owner grows all the vegetables and raises the meat, herself!

Just really loved this place. Was a perfect place to stay, after our more rustic diggs, earlier in the trip.

Room Tip: Hot water heater for all. I don't think there could be a bad room in the whole place...

I have brought a 12 member mission team to San Ignacio for the past two years and stay for two weeks each time. Ms. Betty (who lives on-site) is one of the nicest people you could meet. She and the staff go out of their way to make sure that you have the best experience. The entire facility is spotless and someone always seems to be cleaning. The on-site laundry service really is a great feature. A couple members of the team like to get the air-conditioning and it works very well. Safety is very important to us and Casa Blanca is very secure. The front gate and each room are separate locks and the rooms are on the second floor. The balcony is a great place to people watch and cool off in the evening. The kitchen space allowed us to make breakfast everyday...or we could go across the street and bring back a breakfast burrito and juice. We have used their day-trip services to go to ATM Cave and it was a great time. We have compared and seen some of the other offerings in San Ignacio. This is your best bet if you want to be right in middle of everything. Thanks Ms. Betty!

Room Tip: Room #9 is the largest with the largest bathroom.

My friend and I stayed for four nights. The place was very clean and when we returned from a day of adventure they had come to tidy everything up. The AC was a treat after a long day of sweating. I was very pleased with the security and the always available staff. And the cats that hang out by the entrance just needing some love always made it feel like home.

We have stayed at Casa Blanca on two occasions and enjoyed our stay very much. The location is right downtown and the rooms are clean, affordable and secure. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a convenient kitchen for guests.

We spent three nights at Casa Blanca and found it to be spotlessly clean and the staff all very helpful and friendly. We booked a cave tubing trip via the in-house travel agent which was again great. Also if you're needing to book a shuttle to get somewhere else in Belize and don't feel like taking a chicken bus I recommend using Betty's shuttle driver Tash, she was awesome and is a great driver. All in all a good three nights at a very budget price, couldn't ask for more.

We traveled in Belize--North to South--Islands to West for 2 1/2 weeks...this was our least favorite hotel...

The staff were very nice and the room was clean...the room was spacious, although the bathroom was pretty tiny...the Internet connection was only so-so...signal not very strong...we wanted to sit on the porch but signal wasn't strong enough out there. The common refridgerator didn't seem to work...a bottle of water never froze after two days in the freezer...

We had a room with AC, so that jumps the price up to $49US a night...considering what we paid elsewhere and received much more, I would look for a different place to stay the next time we head out to Cayo...

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of our Central America Intrepid tour. I loved this guests house; it felt like we could really make ourselves at home and be comfortable. There is a shared community room with a refrigerator, kitchen, dining table, couch etc. The rooms were not fancy but clean and comfy. I especially loved that the owner had a couple of cats that came to visit us occasionally. Air conditioning and wifi for a small fee.

There is a bank two doors up and a wonderful cafe for breakfast right across.
