Our shower had no lever to turn it on. We had to ask that the maintenance install one. The room was clean and large. But for $100 US vs the other nice places in San Ignacio for $40 US MAX it was way overpriced. Many lodging can be found for $20 BZ and wouldn't have been a bad stay. The bar was cheezy and outdated. It just seems like it needed to be kept up more and in the last 10 years has been neglected. Needs some new features and improvements in order to be charging such high prices.

This is fairly basic accommodation. We stayed in a cabin, fortunately a single unit. Some of the cabins were duplexes with virtually no sound proofing between the units. The pictures on the brochure are for the deluxe rooms I think.

The staff were friendly and the units were clean. Ants apparently are normal in the bathrooms. There is no electrical plug in the bathroom (told there were no waterproof plugs in Belize) and no mirrors with plugs in the room. The basin plug didn't work. The decor is nice in our unit but not so much in some of the others.

The room wasn't much bigger than the queen size bed. No phones, hair dryers or radios but good tv reception. For the longer term traveller there is nowhere to hang anything unless you bring your own clothes line. There was air conditioning that worked fairly well. We were told that the Wifi only worked in the units if your computer was less than one year old but we could access it in the restaurant and office area. The gym that was advertised apparently no longer exists. The pool area is nice except for the blaring music in the afternoon.

the setting is nice...in a jungle area, quiet. About a 10 minute walk to town.

I stayed here with my best friend as part of a tour group, we stayed in a cabana towards the back of the resort and were pleasantly surprised with how well maintained the resort was. There was a hammock outside on our balcony which was great to relax in the afternoon and on many occasions there were frogs and other wildlife right outside our door step, felt like we were in the jungle! The pool is really nice and there were plenty of beach loungers for everyone to sun bake on. We didnt eat here but the cocktails were really delicious and pretty good value for money. Nice and close to town and all the staff were friendly. The room was kept clean and there was always fresh sheets ans towels waiting for us when we got back from our daily adventures,

The staff was super nice. The rooms are definitely clean, but not super luxurious, so don't expect that. They set us up for a Tikal visit and it went like swiss clockwork - very impressive from pickup, to border crossing, to our guide at the ruin who spoke very clear english - I mention this as in this part of Belize, being on the border with Guatemala, you will hear more Spanish being spoken.

Okay, back to the hotel. They have a good size swimming pool, a bar area, and two of the nicest guys you could ever meet who sell their handcrafted Mayan souvenirs.

I definitely recommend this hotel for this part of Belize, just keep your expectations in line.

Room Tip: I believe they may have new rooms then the round cottage we stayed in.

We stayed 3 nights as part of a tour. The hotel itself was very nice, the rooms were clean and the reception and restaurant staff were lovely. We ate in the hotel the first night and although lots of things were off the menu, what I had was very nice. One night they had a disco until late, the next night someone was banging on a door down the hall then having a very loud conversation at 1am, so didn't get much sleep! The town is a short walk from the hotel and it's not far from the border with Guatemala, so an ideal place to stay if travelling through.

We stayed here two nights in a cabana. This place was chill and staff was friendly and helpful. The food that was cooked was amazing and the pool area was awesome after a long day of travelling and adventures

We went to the ruins outside of town. We asked the front desk to call us a back and hired a guide when we arrived. The drive to the ruins were 15 minutes outside of town. We also did the ATM tour which was the highlight of the entire stay. Swimming into a cave was an amazing experience and it was not too difficult.

The walk into town took five minutes and there is no need for a cab. Lots of decent restaurants and bars downtown and everyone was friendly.

Next time I would stay longer and travel over to Tikal in Guatemala and checked out other sites around town.

If you are expecting luxury, full service don't stay here. Good bang for your buck.

The room temperature was well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit when I checked in. By the next morning it cooled off to about 80 degrees. They need better air conditioners. There was no restaurant at all, and the "road" it was on was the worst in San Ignacio.
