This was a great base station for inland jungle adventures such as cavetubing,
ATM cave and horse back riding. Also the Cahal Pech ruins are a short walk away. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant cuisine was very good, with a somewhat limited menu. However, the service tended to be a little slow. We stayed in the cabanas which were very simple with a nice hammock out front. We had a great view of San Ignacio from the deck. The 5 minute walk to town, as described in the website, was greatly exagerated and we were glad we had a rental car. We can't say enough good about the tour guides "Dora" and "Carlos" that were arranged by the hotel staff-we still frequently talk about them. We enjoyed the pool area as it was very hot. All in all we had a good experience.

Stayed in a cabanha, it was cute. Don't plan on sleeping in, the sound from town and bird start first thing in the morning. You can always take a nap in the hammock in the afternoon. Grounds very nice. Can walk to town but may want to take a cab back as it is up a large hill. Food is good but would also recommend going to town to eat as well. Pool is very nice, and love the views. Staff was all very nice. would stay again

Spent two nights at Cahal Pech Resort. It was very clean, open and overlooks San Ignacio. The restaurant was really good. The bar even better......tell Oscar you want to try his Famous "Snow" drink! The bungalo we stayed in was nice. It was clean & simple, but accomodating. Hot water, TV, Comfy Bed, plus a cool Hammock on the the screened in porch. There were dogs barking and you could easily hear the town at night.(only a 1/4 mile away, down the hill).....but we found that if you turn on the fan on the window AC it makes it all melt away, and a good night was had by all. Overall this is the best place to stay if you are thinking about going to mayan ruins nearby (Tikal, Xunantunich, Caracol).
Now this is the cool thing! This resort sits on the hill right next to Cahal Pech ruins......it took us only 2 min to walk to the entrance. it was 8 am.....and we had the place all to ourselves. It's not a real large site with towering stone, but it has many cool passage ways, rooms, courts....very cool and secluded...a must see. youtube has some cool videos of this ruin. So check them out. I reasearched other hotels and this is by far the best place to stay for location! So call them, Email them...whatever, they'll take care of everything.
Say hi to Ceasar for me.

Nice resort with good amenities. Nice pools. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only bad side is the hill you have to climb each time you want to go downtown. We recommand taking a taxi (7$ bze). The tour they organized are good and prices are comparable to the other companies. Although, we tried to have a personnalized trip to the local farms, but they didn't help much. It is better to stick with the tour they offer. Food was good but not too many choices.

The staff at the resort are the best. Melanie was great to work with while booking my trip. She took care of everything, including our excursions, best around. The front desk staff was always helpful and kind. They will help you with anything you need. I would recommend this property to anyone. The family cabana, Yaxha ( i think the name was) was great for a family. Nice rooms and great hammock on screened in porch.
