My fiancee and I spent several wonderful nights at Ka'Ana.

The staff was incredible - they were friendly, helpfull, cheerfull and they all knew our names.
The bungalow was cute, spacious and clean. I loved the hammock in front.

Ka'Ana was also very accomodating with our reservations. The airline screwed up our travel plans causing us to miss a day, and they were able to add a night at the end of our stay.

We had a great meal at the restaurant - my fiancee had the cedar plank snapper, and claims it was the best fish she's ever eaten.

Thanks Ka'Ana - we had a wonderful time.

My boyfriend and I had the most incredible trip to Belize a few weeks ago. San Ignacio was the highlight of our trip and Ka’ana was a big part of this. The staff was friendly and helpful while giving us space to enjoy ourselves. The rustic grounds were landscaped beautifully and the “casita” very comfortable. We had the inclusive with breakfast and dinner every day. The food was fresh and delicious.

The best part of Ka’ana was the attention to every detail of our stay which we loved (and spoiled us for the rest of our trip.) We arrived and received a fresh blended drink. Every night candles were light outside of our little casita leading us to the dining commons. At dinner new fresh baked bread was served every night. There were also different sides served with the menu depending on what was fresh in the organic garden. We got home to our casita with turndown service and often a little local surprise treat in our fridge. We could not have asked for a more beautiful, relaxing, amazing stay. The quality of service, grounds, culinary experience and attention to detail are amazing!!

Ka’ana will also always hold a special place in our hearts. My boyfriend and I loved it soo much he decided to hold his surprise proposal there (he brought the ring all the way from Los Angeles and was looking for a very special place on our trip). It was a big surprise. The whole staff was in on it too! We didn’t have our camera so they took pics and even created a video to music of the pics of us and the hotel grounds. Again, amazing attention to detail and service. I have no reservations highly recommending Ka’ana to all travelers. Enjoy!!!

This is a really nice and hip place- great location near town, yet secluded. The rooms are all remodeled detached casitas with flat screen TV's, nice bathrooms and great beds. The grounds are well manicured, great restaurant and a nice pool. We spent our fourth night (stayed three nights at Chaa Creek- see my reviews) and was happy to finally take a nice hot shower, be in hip and modern room and get caught up on world news. Overall, three days is plenty in San Ignacio. But, at least from here you can take a $5 cab ride into town (6 miles) and book your activities there, where you will save 40%. Split your time between the jungle and beach (Placencia), otherwise you might run out of things to do in San Ignacio- the town itself does not have much to offer.

Thank you for your review! Being near town, yet secluded is exactly what we were aiming for and I'm glad you were able to appreciate that. While we only had you for one night it was very much our pleasure hosting you and I hope the remainder of your time in Belize was everything you hoped it would be and more. Thank you again and travel well!

Ka’ana has it all! and then some! It’s hard to describe my experience here without starting to drift off to la la land and reminisce of the great time we had there. I went with some friends and we were greeted upon arrival with smiling faces of a handful of staff and tasty cocktails, then escorted to our rooms. The walk .. like walking through a secret garden. The candlelit walkway, lush green surrounding, soft sound of water flowing .. you can’t help but feel at peace. Our room (Casita) was very luxurious, being clean, spacious, and having furniture of mahogany. Their attention to detail was what stood out. A wine bottle on the table with glasses and a wine bottle opener (how often do you find yourself on vacay in need of a bottle of wine in your room?), a vase of fresh tropical flowers with tea lights, a handwritten note on the bed to personally welcome us to Ka’ana. They even have a turn down service where we would find a note that there was a treat in the fridge waiting for us! The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and right there to assist with every need. They were so helpful with setting up the activities and took care of all the arrangements (i.e. rides, lunches, scheduling, etc), giving us more time to relax than stressing about planning. During our 4 day trip, we went to the ATM Caves for some spelunking (about 1 ½ hours ride away), Xunantunich (Mayan Ruins about 10 mins away), received a fabulous Swedish massage, and met with the Shaman! All highly recommended! The rest of the time was spent relaxing in a hammock, lounging at the pool, or eating in their delicious restaurant, La Ceiba! I was so impressed that the resort had its very own organic farm. It’s amazing how one place can give you all the adventure you could want and be so serene at the same time! I can’t wait until the next time I can visit this gem in the jungle!

I'm pleased you enjoyed your time with us and am very thankful you took the time to write about your experience. The adventures you had- ATM and Xunantunich- are some of the most incredible in this region! It really was a pleasure having you and friends and I wish you only the best for your future travels (of course we'd love if it included a return trip to Belize!).

My Girlfriend and I came for our annivesary and Ka'ana made it simply magical. Beautiful private rooms (casitas) with decks in the front and back (we did yoga on the mats in the morning in the back and drank cocktails and lounged in the hammocks out front in the evenings). the Restaurant on site was incredible. As a vegetarian, i loved that they have an onsite organic garden where they grow their own vegetables. The Arugula Salad was the best i've ever had (i ended up ordering it every night), super fresh and peppery (they pick it daily!). Also they have an onsite mixologist who made some amazing cocktails. the first night in we had a special he had whipped up, a mango orange drink with coconut milk. I was a bit hesitant at first, as i typically tend towards wine or whiskey, but i'm glad i got it as it was sensational. i loved the candle lit paths at night, perfect for a romantic post-dinner stroll.

I'm also quite the procrastinator and hadn't planned all the aspects of our trip but the staff was so helpful. A quick call to the front (thanks Fallon!) and they took care of planning everything. We were schedule for tours of Xunantunich (beautiful Mayan Temple, only 10 mins away!) and massages in the afternoon. i also highly recommend going to the ATM Caves, like being in an Indiana Jones movie (minus the boulders). oh! and you must visit the Mayan Shaman!

They even set up a private dinner for us by the pool, in honor of our annivesary. We can't thank Ka'ana enough. As other reviewers stated, their service goes above and beyond most places i've stayed (this is about as close to feeling like royalty as i'm going to get), they are so friendly and accomodating. We'll definitely be back as 3 days was far too short a visit to soak it all up.

I'm very happy that you were able to experience what makes this destination so very special - from the people to the food to the ability to visit a Mayan Shaman! Thank you again and I wish you only the best for your future travels.

What to say about our stay at Ka'ana? Only one word comes to mind, peaceful. The grounds were lush and well manicured. The casitas were perfect, nicely appointed, very roomy with both a front and back deck, a relaxing haven after a day of touring. The infinity pool only added to the feeling of serenity already present at the resort. But, I have saved the best part of the review to last. The absolute best part of the resort is the staff! Without the staff, the resort would be just another very lovely property in the Cayo district. Where to begin? We were greeted upon arrival by Fallon who made it her business to see to our every need with a smile on her face. Candida in the dining room was an absolute joy to be around and brightened every meal. Charlie and Leo, the bartenders, quickly introduced us to the local rum drinks and their quick wit added life to
the late afternoon scene. Last but not least, was our guide, Wilbur. He made touring in Belize and Guatemala interesting. He was extremely personable and had a wealth of knowledge that he shared with us. It was just fun to spend the day with him. Like everyone else at Ka'ana, he went the extra mile to assure that we had the best possible experience.
Thanks everyone for a wonderful stay at Ka'ana.

We spent four nights at Ka'ana last month and it was everything I hoped it would be. The staff was incredibly attentive and eager to do anything to make the stay more enjoyable. The grounds are small but lush, beautiful and private. There is a small pool that is perfect for cooling off after a long day hiking the caves or ruins. The rooms were nice. Well-appointed and with private porch and deck. Turn-down service is a nice touch. The restaurant was excellent but a bit overpriced. The hotel staff really outdid themselves when they discovered that we had left a bag in the lobby after checkout- before we had even called they sent a driver with it to meet us at the airport (1.5 hours away). I would definitely stay at Ka'ana again if ever back in San Ignacio.
