Two friends and I stayed at Ka Ana for a week and had an amazing time. The room (an air conditioned casita with a flat screen tv ) and grounds were beautiful and the staff is very friendly. The best part of our stay was the tours, we did a cave tubing tour, a trip to Tikal, and a day trip to San Pedro for snorkeling and fishing. The hotel is perfectly situated for all of these excursions and the hotel takes care of all of the details and we always felt like we were in good hands. We also took part in relaxing massages at the spa, a complimentary morning yoga class on an outdoor deck under a canopy of trees, a guided tour of the zoo, a trip to the Iguana Sanctuary, and spent plenty of time relaxing at the pool (a pretty infinity pool but a bit on the smaller side, which is fine since it's almost always nearly empty). They also offer Maya cooking classes and bartending classes on site- you will never be bored!. The only downside was that it was hard to get wifi from the rooms but there was easy access from the rest of the property.

Room Tip: The casitas were nice and private- a deck with a hammock out front and an additional deck with a lou...

Ka-ana was our first stop on my (now fiancé) and my two week trip to Belize. Everything was just incredible. I had arranged prior to our trip to do the tour to Xunantunich. What my girlfriend didn't know at the time, was that I had also arranged to propose to her at the top of the largest ruin on the site. Ka'ana helped with everything including finding us the BEST tour guide named Andy to help with the plan. It went perfectly and it was so beautiful. I even had them sneak some champagne to the top of the ruin to celebrate the moment! Everything I asked for, they made happen, including a private dinner on the terrace with candles and tiki torches for our engagement dinner. It was unbelievable.

The staff at Ka'ana was amazing. Garnett and the rest of the crew made our trip fantastic. The room was beautiful and well appointed. The place has such a peaceful and serene vibe. It's like a little oasis away from the world, and it felt like we had really gotten away from the craziness of our lives. I would recommend this resort to anyone, and I really hope to come back one day. They knocked it out of the park!

Thank you Ka'ana!

Absolutely everything about our stay at this hotel was fantastic! We were greeted at the airport (at 6:20 a.m.) by a great guide who whisked us to the hotel, providing all kinds of facts and answering all of our questions along the way.
We were greeted personally by managers Jeanine and Jack upon our arrival with some type of amazing, refreshing cocktail.
After resting a bit, we had the opportunity to sit down with Jeanine to discuss our activities during our stay. For every tour you receive your own personal guide for the trip and they are wonderful!
Together with their outstanding staff, managers Jeanine and Jack personally ensure that every aspect of your stay is impeccable. The food and cocktails are top notch -- fresh, creative, and delicious! Each room feels like a little casita, and it well appointed, complete with air conditioning (which is wonderful in this part of the country).
Because the property is small, you really feel the personal attention to every detail.
I really can't say enough good things about Ka'ana. You simply MUST stay here if it is within your budget to do so!

My wife and I stayed at Ka'ana for 4 days as part of an anniversary trip to Belize. The resort came highly recommended from friends and it certainly lived up to the expectations. The staff members were exceptionally warm, helpful and courteous, and along with the managers made a point to introduce themselves to us and to call us by name for the duration of our stay. They ensured we were taken care of on all fronts whether lounging at the resort or preparing for an excursion. The property is beautiful and well located to experience the sights in the broader Cayo region.

As an aside, we selected their all inclusive meals package which we would highly recommend to others. The food quality was high (especially compared to what else is available in the area), service was attentive, and not needing to leave the resort after a full day of activity made it the perfect option.

My husband and I chose Ka'Ana as our first stop for our honeymoon. We went during the slower season, so we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The service was amazing. They seemed very interested in getting to know us and help make our stay there unforgettable. The food is delightful! We had a few tours booked with our package. The staff from Ka'Ana acted as our personal tour guide and they were very knowledgeable about every place we went. Can't wait to go back!!!

After intensive research and months of deliberation, my husband and I decided on celebrating our honeymoon in Belize with a split stay in the jungle at Ka'ana and at the beach in San Pedro at Azul (Casa Azul). What we were looking for was a destination that would enable us to relax and unwind but would also challenge us with new experiences that were unique and memorable, fostering our sense of adventure and letting us do so as a couple. Ka'ana was the perfect mix of romance and adventure (think Indiana Jones meets Lara Croft in the setting of an Adam Sandler-Drew Barrymore movie), and we frequently talk about our experiences there as some of the coolest things that my husband and I have EVER done.

So for the romance and the experiences that I am willing to share publicly on the internet, Ka'ana offers wonderful dining experiences (by the way the food is absolutely fantastic and can accommodate most any request- I lived on Arugula Salad and mixed drinks while my husband had jerk chicken, coconut rice, plantains and plenty of Belkins......the local beer) as well as a beautiful, refreshing pool perfect for couples wanting to have peace and quiet. The spa was under renovation when we were there, so I can't comment on this other than I am sure that it will be phenomenal once completed. One of the highlights from our stay was our private dinner held on the Yoga deck. A candlelit pathway led us from the main lodge area to the yoga deck where there was a beautifully appointed table for two, soft music playing, and elegant unique lighting all in the foreground of one of the most beautiful and majestic trees that I had seen on our entire trip in Belize. We had a dedicated server waiting to attend to our every need but also knowing when to let us enjoy being by ourselves. This was the first time in a long time where it was just my husband and I.......no noisy traffic, no pressures from jobs, family, or friends, and most importantly no wedding planning. We ate, danced, talked, and both came away from the experience with one of the most special memories we have had together in our 7 year relationship. It was honestly the most perfect way to begin our honeymoon and has set a standard for a romantic evening for which my husband will have to strive for for the years to come.

In stark contrast to the romantic dinners and the lazy afternoons in the pool, our mornings frequently started early (anywhere from 5-7 am wake up times) where we ate room service while preparing our backpacks, applying copious amounts of sunscreen and bug spray, and mentally preparing ourselves for the adventures to come. Ka'ana ensures that their guests get the most out of each of their excursions by offering private tours featuring highly trained, skilled, and accommodating guides. We developed a game plan for our excursions during our 1.5 hr long drive from Belize city to Ka'ana with the recommendations of our tour guide Daryl as well as during our orientation once we checked into the resort. We rode horseback to the ruins at Xunantunich on our first full day at Ka'ana followed with a packed Day 2 of zip lining, a privately guided hike involving a very comprehensive tour of the flora and fauna in the jungles of Belize (I now know what a termite tastes like), and receiving multiple blessings from the sacred water drops from the roofs of the caves that we visited while cave tubing. But by far the most impressive, take-your-breath-away, this is the reason to be alive experiences we had was our private tour of ATM. In this all day adventure, I found my perfect place on Earth aka the place where my brain goes to when my mental screen saver comes up. This was physically challenging (you shimmy, shake, climb, pray, and get bruised but you don't even realize it) and mentally thrilling. We would go back there in a heartbeat and would only have our bare-foot, machete bearing guide Patrick lead us.

In all, this place is magical and I hope that I could capture the awesomeness of our 5 day adventure there with my review. Everyone treated us with such respect and made it a priority to ensure that our stay was exceptional. The general managers, Jock and Janine, also shared in enhancing our experience with hand written welcome notes, yummy snacks that would mysteriously appear in our fridge, and sharing drinks and stories with us during the evenings. We CAN NOT wait until our next stay at Ka'ana, and we hope that you will enjoy your time as much as we did.

Room Tip: We stayed in a Casita and felt that we had space, the amenities and upgrades that we needed, and mos...

My wife and I decided to do the Sand and Stone package for our honeymoon. We spent the first half of the week in San Igancio at Ka'ana. We went in mid-June, so it was the beginning of the rainy season. This means we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The staff are amazing, friendly, call you by name, and you will leave feeling like you have just made numerous friends. We loved the knowledge everyone had to share, at the resort, and private tours. Everything is planned out to be on time, personal, and at a very high level of service. We never felt like anything was left out, or forgotten. The rooms are very comfortable, and we loved the turndown evening snacks with the note every night. I recommend the ATM cave, cave tubing, and the Mayan ruins. They arrange it all, Just have to show up. The food is very well thought out, and we loved the interactive Mayan night cooking class. This was our favorite meal. The drinks here are unique, and delicious. We recommend the Habanero mango margarita and the green juice. We could not have picked a better, more intimate, and more romantic place for our honeymoon
