This house was absolutely incredible. You sometimes wonder when booking a place by just looking at the photos, is this what it looks like now.... The pictures that are shown on the website are absolutely accurate. With the beach right across the road you can start your mornings with a relaxing swim in the clear blue, green waters or just sit with your cup of your favorite morning beverage and watch the pelicans dive for their meals. Maya Beach is just a 5-10 minute drive down the peninsula where you will find the local hangout of Mango's, the Belize Ocean Club (which has a great swim up pool bar) and the Singing Sands Resort. What we really enjoyed was the quiet nights for sleeping, the birds waking us up in the morning, kayaking right off the property into the lagoon and two incredible verandas with the view of the Lagoon and Mountains. We were even lucky enough to catch a few sighting of dolphins and manatees. The nights are so quiet, watching stars from the beach is amazing. This house was great for us to relax, have some privacy, and enjoy some fun times with good friends. It's about a 25 minute drive to the village at the bottom of the Peninsula, so if you are looking to party every night, it may be a little too far away from the village for some. However, the location was ideal for us as the zip lining, hiking, and drive to the local Mayan Ruins was perfect for driving straight out. So if you are looking for a place for the two of you to get away, a place for the family to get away or having some fun times with good friends this is the place for you.
You know when you sit at home and think that you really need a vacation? You picture tropical weather, a quiet, private beach with palm trees, a seaside villa, luxurious sheets, a lagoon to kayak in, a kitchen worthy of fine dining, tall ceilings, cool tile floors, a deck to barbecue on, all the comforts of home, and a not-too-distant tropical village for late-night dancing on the sand, fresh frozen Gelato, gourmet meals and a beach boardwalk?
This is that place.
If you’re looking for some serious rest and relaxation, this is the perfect spot. I slept like a baby because it was so quiet there in the evenings. Waking up to the sound of nature instead of traffic was pure heaven! This place has the “best of both worlds” whether you wish to lay low or do different activities. If kayaking is something you enjoy, you simply walk out the back door and the lagoon is there waiting for you…doesn’t get better than that and the views are breath-taking, especially the sunsets! Really enjoyed the restaurants nearby. Food was great and well-priced. One of my favourites was an Indian restaurant located on the main road called Tiger Beach Club. Ambiance was out of this world. I felt like I was in a movie and the food/service was outstanding! A must do if you like this type of cuisine. Having all the high-end luxuries in this house set the bar high, gave a sense of being pampered and I left there feeling refreshed, renewed and ready to face the world again. It was like time truly slowed down which was exactly what I needed!
