Description: We're certainly far from perfect, but we do try our best to create a winning experience for every single customer, whether they are hotel guests, Belizean neighbors or travelers staying at other hotels. Try pairing small plates with wines, choose from our creative main courses, or just enjoy some comfort food for breakfast or lunch. It's fun for us to meet new people and, well, just make them happy! Our casual beach bistro focuses on unique sauces and contemporary, tropical-themed flavor combinations while maintaining comfortable portions. Lots of fish and seafood. Bar service includes a 130-bottle wine list, local beer, rum drinks, and house specials. The outdoor atmosphere is casual so you can be comfortable in flip flops. Belize's "Restaurant of the Year" award was presented twice to the Bistro in June 2011 and May 2013.

We booked a room at the hotel here because we heard there was great food. Everything we ordered was delicious. My husband quite enjoyed the cinnamon roll french toast at breakfast- and my favorite meal of our stay was a nut encrusted fish- even the mash potatoes that came with the fish were the best I've ever had. If you're in Placencia, I would definitely add the Maya Beach Hotel Bistro to your list of places to dine.

John and Ellen are such hard workers. Their place gives you fine dining all three meals with a view if the ocean to die for. The food is always outstanding, the owners and the staff are friendly and beyond efficient, the facility is pleasant and very clean. What more could one ask for!

We spent $40 in cab fee just to eat here, since it's rated so highly on Trip Advisor. Although we did find the food enjoyable and the drinks (Berried Treasure) to be fantastic, we didn't feel it was worth our $40 cab ride. There are 3 other restaurants in the main village of Placencia that were just as good as Maya Beach. Service here was excellent. Depending on where you're staying, you should definitely check it out....

Maya Beach Bistro is definitely the place to go in Placencia for fine dining. The food was good and the service was excellent. Great wine selection. Being a more fine dining restaurant, we felt it lacked the character the other restaurants in Placencia. However, I'm not sure you go to nice restaurants for character.

If you go, do yourself a favor and get the key lime pie. It was amazing!

Maya Beach Bistro is located a bit of ways outside of the main town of Placencia so you can't walk there. We had a car, however, you can get a taxi for very cheap.

In our opinion, Maya Beach Bistro was number three in the top restaurants in Placencia. The first two being Mojo number one and Rumfish number two. All three are very good and each is different that the other. The decor, the people, the owners, all different and all great in their own way. I'm sure other people will have these three in different orders. However, this was the consensus among our group of 5.
