We stayed at Maya Beach Hotel for a week and had most of our meals at the Bistro.Breakfast was a treat, from the standard Belize breakfast with Fry Jacks to pancakes with bacon, fresh fruit and great coffee. I was afraid to try the chocolate, strawberry french toast in case I got addicted to them.
Being a picky eater was no problem here because the menu is flexible to your wants and needs. Tried the fish and chips for lunch . Definitely the largest pieces of fish I had ever been served. Was difficult to eat it all.
Dinner is a real challenge. Every single item on the menu sounds tempting. You think you have decided what to have, then read the next thing on the menu and it sounds delicious. The nut-crusted fish with watermelon curry sauce was to die for. If you like pork, order the cocoa pork. It looks like a small prime rib roast (was huge). Gourmet style food in large portions is what you receive here. Anything you order from the menu will not dissapoint you.
Be adventuresome and try as much as you can.
Service matches the food in quality people. The staff here are of premium standard. Always smiling and willing to help with suggestions if you want to tweek something on the menu. Loved all the staff. A big thank-you to them all and to John and Ellen for a memorable dining experience. Keep up the great work.
