“beautiful sunset; good food, too many mosquitoes”
Reviewed 25 March 2012

Everyone loved their food, and the drinks were spectacular. However, the service was slow, despite there being few guests. Additionally, the bugs were so brutal that the waiter brought us bug spray...a little late. I think it's just protected enough in the bay that there isn't enough wind to clear the 'skeeters.

So, spray before you go, enjoy the sunset, enjoy the food, and chill out about the slow service.

“Best Indian food in the Caribbean!”
Reviewed 22 June 2010

Saffron's is on our 'must eat at' list every couple of months. It's worth driving to Placencia for it(along with a stop at Tutti Frutti, of course!) When we take friends there, they always say that it's the best Indian food they've ever had. Ajender and Atender provide wonderful, instantaneous service. Great value for all the food that is put on the table.

The restaurant in lifted, and right on the water, providing a great breeze, and a wonderful atmosphere. Everything we've ever had there was outstanding, from chicken to shrimp, and everything in between. Great for when you don't want the normal fare. Highly recommended! Planning our next trip there soon.

“If it is really open, it's quite good”
Reviewed 23 January 2010

We've now tried to go to the restaurant four times and only once was it open. You have to go down a really dark lane and walk the sand to find it but once you're there and find it open, it's terrific Indian food.

“A taste of India”
Reviewed 13 August 2009

Lovely coconut curried lobster and samosas!

Made a change from all the usual Placencia fare, and there is a nice view from the deck.
