The server who may have been the owner had a bad attitude towards us from the minute we entered. She was cold and argumentative with us because we asked for syrup for our fry Jacks (she said they didn't have it, but they serve pancakes so...) Their juice was bitter, which was okay, we switched it out for a soda. She charged us $5 for it anyway and was very belligerent.

Thank Anthony B

During our ten day stay in Placencia we tried t hit all of the local favorites recommended by the locals. Dawns Grill came up many times. We were promptly greeted by Dawns daughter and had, probably the best table in the place. Small but attentive staff. Extremely welcoming just like family. Local legend has it that Dawn has been cooking and serving love for many years and it shows at Dawns. We could not enjoy the lobster because, unfortunately, we were ahead of the season by a few days. The Tamarind juice was a huge welcome on a humid and warm evening. The place was hopping with locals, ex pats and visitors to the peninsula. We dinned on the snapper grilled and served up creole style with coconut rice.We had a choice of mild, medium or hot creole spices. My wife choose mild and I went hot. Perfectly cooked snapper, hot with flaky meat on the fish. The rice was fresh cooked just right, fluffy, not sticky and the sweet hint of coconut. Cold Belikin's and a SPECIAL RUM PUNCH made in the back that was not on the menu. Dawn made an appearance at our table to make sure all was well. It all was very well. I do wish I had the opportunity to chat with her length. I am sure there are so many wonderful stories. We ended up dining here three / four more times. When you are in Placencia, you HAVE to stop by and have a meal. You will not be disappointed. PROMISE.

Stopped in here for lunch today. The lime juice was refreshing on a hot day after a bike ride. The service was quick and attentive. The chicken fajita was great! Even though I was very hungry, I took half home.
They are located on the road just up from BTL office.

Awesome local cuisine, Fresh food cooked to perfection. The tamarind juice fresh made was super delicious. Had the grilled red snapper & it was great. Must visit while in Placencia - very reasonably priced too.

Dawn is not only a great cook but she’s an awesome hostess and wonderful human! She greeted us and within minutes we felt like old friends. June 15 was the first day of lobster season and she held a few for our dinner reservation and it did not disappoint! We highly recommend Dawns for dinner!!
