This was the second half of our honeymoon in Belize. We had planned to use Placencia as our jumping off point for snokeling and swimming. Unfortunately, the weather and the ocean had other plans for us.

When we arrived at Green Parrot, we were the only patrons. The beach is beautiful and the houses are gorgeous mahogany with kitchenettes. The showers leave some pressure to be desired, but when you're in such a beautiful place, its hard to complain!

The weather in June is blustery and the wood shutters over the screens aren't the best for keeping the wind out, so we felt pretty windblown most nights.

The service is wonderful. Our room was cleaned everyday, even though we were the only ones there (and we would have been absolutely content with picking up after ourselves). The food was great (we were there for lobster season) and we enjoyed evening excursions to Placencia.

This was the most relaxing vacation. I was thrilled that the ocean was so close to the room and restaurant. I has such a wonderful time there. The food was great. The drinks were great. The staff at Green Parrot are very friendly and very helpful. Leo and the gang are such nice people. Leo did such a nice job of lining up tours we wanted to take and was helpful in answering questions about the tours. I sure enjoyed myself and the beach and look forward to returning. Thank you!

Great value in a beautiful, peaceful, friendly, beachside small cabana resort on Maya Beach, Placencia peninsula, Belize. We were looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful place and found it here. Leo and the rest of the staff are the best. We felt at home right away. Lots of activities available if you want to go, but its all optional. If you are a big resort hotel, bar scene, glitz person, this is not the place for you. If you want a get away in a sweet spot, you will like it.

The Green Parrot Resort was great. I went there for a small wedding. The staff was excellent! They knew everybody's names and which cabana each person was staying in after the first day or so. If you wanted to book a trip (to the mayan ruins for example) all you had to do was tell Leo what day you wanted to go and he set everything up for you and drove you there and everything. The owners were also there while I was and they were so great and fun too. If you are looking to have a small intimate tropical wedding, this is the place. Leo and the staff decorated the entire dock for the wedding with palm tree leaves and fresh flowers (it looked awesome). Overall it was great. My only advice is bring bug spray.

Also don't worry guys. There is a little bar that is about a 3 minute walk right down the road with a television. (My boyfriend found it and was able to watch some football games that he thought he was going to have to miss while we were in Belize.)

Awesome spot on the beach. Located about 20 min from downtown Placencia on a bumpy road. A perfect place to chill on the beach and relax. The restaurant has good food at reasonable prices, but it doesn't stay open late. There is a bar that stays open late at the next hotel down the beach.

The cabana was very nice. There is a nice ocean breeze at night and the hammock on the front porch is awesome. Also, there is a fridge in the room.
