We were looking for a quiet spot to spend our Christmas vacation in Placencia, and Miller's Landing turned out to be just perfect! We had a great time hanging out in the hammocks by the pool, trying sea kayaking just off the property and munching on Annie's pizza (which was absolutely delicious)! Having a car with us, we were able to head out on most nights and try some of the amazing restaurants around and also the addictive gelato from the famous place in town. Miller's Landing is not your standard sterile, luxurious resort - it's a lovely family operation with a plenty of personality. The beds were comfy and we didn't miss the AC at all (the breeze cooled our room right down). We would definitely stay here again!

After driving all day through the mountains, we had no idea where our friend was taking us. Annie and Gary have created a very beautiful and peaceful spot. Everyone in our party (6) were treated like kings and queens with fabulous tropical drinks, unique conversation and had some of the best pizza we have ever eaten. Rooms were spacious and well stocked and it's open air concept kept the room cool and comfortable as the tropical ocean breezes filled the room. We woke to the beautiful sounds of birds and ocean waves hitting the beach. The sunrise was spectacular and was followed by some great Belizean coffee, homemade banana bread and choice of fruits. We would truly recommend this spot to anyone.

Our group of 11 people had spent 7 days inland working in a school - a life changing experience! We had booked the entire property of Miller's Landing Resort for our group to spend 4 days debriefing our time at the school. The setting was perfect. The rooms are rustic and the property has a wonderful eco-feel to it. We were able to spend the uninterrupted time we needed each morning.

Anne is a very gracious and giving hostess. She provided wonderful breakfasts for us each morning. We opted to not eat most of our evening meals at Miller's as we wanted to both explore other restaurants and to save money by preparing simple sandwiches some evenings. Anne was more than understanding. Our one evening meal that we did have at Miller's was very good!

Our only concern was that during our evenings in the dining building, we were at times interrupted by Gary, Anne's husband. He insinuated himself into our conversations. Unlike most proprietors Gary crossed that boundary between host and guest which made us somewhat uncomfortable.

I have rated Miller's Landing as very good because it met so many of our needs. I would suggest to others planning to stay at Miller's that an early establishment of guest/host boundaries would probably help.

Miller's Landing is a small, beach-side mini-resort owned and managed by Gary and Anne who have built the place up over the past 20 years. They are extremely friendly and Anne is an excellent cook. They have tried to keep the vegetation surrounding the resort as intact as possible, which is really nice compared to the extreme management approaches taken by other resorts in the Placencia area. The rooms are fairly basic and could have been cleaner.

The minute our large family, ages 6 to 73, arrived at Miller’s Landing we felt the magic that Annie and Gary Miller have created. We were warmly greeted and gently assisted in settling into the cabanas and bungalows, then encouraged to dive into the pool and ocean because, though dinner was ready, it could wait while we un-wound from our long travel day. Thus began our family’s amazing two week vacation at Miller’s Landing.

Each morning, after great sleeps, we awoke to beautiful birds singing in the native trees, bushes and flowers which Annie and Gary have kept on the property. As we stepped out into the sunshine, the sand paths around the resort and the beach front were carefully being raked as if it were a Zen garden.

We purchased the partial meal plan of breakfasts and dinners. Our days began with fabulous Belizean coffee, fresh juice, fruit, home made granola and freshly baked goodies. Our dinners were equally wonderful. Annie and Gary quietly served us delicious full course dinners while our family, seated at two large tables, shared and reminisced. And yes, Annie’s pizza was amazing

Some days we stayed on site and enjoyed the bikes, kayaks, pool and beach. Other days we took advantage of Annie’s keen knowledge of southern Belize and went on her suggested day trips.

Annie and Gary were generous with their time, attentive to our needs and not at all intrusive. They are unique and special people who have truly created an authentic Belizean Beach Eco Lodge. We feel fortunate to have been a part of their treasured home and property for two wonderful weeks. It was a perfect place for our 50th anniversary family trip.

Millers landing has a sort of eco feel to it with it's Belizian style and architecture. If you want a place that is off the beaten path slightly, yet close enough to the things Placencia has to offer, Millers Landing is a great choice.

Ann and Gary are 2 of the nicest people you will ever meet and both have very interesting stories on how they ended up at Millers Landing. They are also very well connected and can get you into any fishing or sightseeing excursion you'd like. We got picked up by a boat right on their Millers property.

We used their bikes to pedal into Placencia on a number of occasions, but taxi's are not far away if you prefer. Traveling at night with the bikes is problematic as there is very little ambient light on the way back to Millers and at times, very difficult to find the road... but it was fun!

The accommodations are rustic and this is not the Hilton by any stretch, but Millers Landing has a certain charm to it. It really was a find by Ann and Gary and I can see why they love it there so much.

As other reviews have stated, Anne makes a great pizza and Gary serves the coldest Belikin anywhere in Belize.

We stayed in their basic room but I'd highly recommend the upgraded accommodations so you have access to a fridge and other amenities since you are a distance from restaurants and grocery stores.

Overall, Gary and Ann make this place special and if you come for no other reason, visit Millers Landing to meet these super nice people.

Room Tip: Luxury rooms have a fridge which is a huge benefit in Belize.

We just spent 6 days at Miller's Landing and it was the best choice and experience we could have imagined!! Staying with Ann and Gary felt like staying with friends; they were fun, gave great advice, and successfully walked the line of being helpful and invested in our trip without being intrusive or directing. It is a beautiful place; the right combination of comfort and natural beauty without the distraction of phony resort life. ALSO! Ann's cooking was absolutely the best we tasted. We went to some of the places that other's have reviewed highly but without a doubt, our best meals were at Miller's Landing. You need to try it! The pizza is great, but so was everything else!!!! 3 Cheers to Ann and Gary for their graciousness, their love and preservation of the area, their honest input and suggestions, and their committment to being authentic to themselves and Placencia!! Could not have been better!! (Plus we loved their dogs!!)
