It was my fiancés third time, my second, and we will keep staying at Seaspray. From everything to a private beach front porch, to Frank (the landscaper) getting me a coconut to drink... everything was perfect.

Room Tip: We stayed in the "Seaview #1" room. Its the second floor, so you feel safe, private and ha...

We stayed an entire week at Sea Spray and fully enjoyed our time. We had a sea-side room which was big, clean, and beautifully presented (although I wish they would stop killing flowers just to put on the bed, between towels etc…) The rooms have a small kitchenette, and a private bathroom. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to accommodate you. They offer tours, and will call to organize them on your behalf. Sea Spray is right on the beach, and conveniently next to a restaurant which is great for a lazy day at the beach. The have good working internet in the Sea Side Rooms but not the Economy Rooms and they're in walking distance to the village where all the shops and restaurants are. I would definitely recommend staying at Sea Spray while visiting Placencia.

Room Tip: We had the first room upstairs on the beach (as you come out of reception). It had a mini kitchen, i...

I would recommend the Seaspray hotel to anyone interested in visiting Belize. It is clean, safe and the staff is friendly. The location was perfect for us - it has a great beach and is within a stone's throw of 3 restaurants/bars. It is a 5 minute walk to the center of the village where you can find many other great places to eat.

My review takes the relative cost into consideration. If you're looking for un-compromised luxury, this hotel is not for you. If you're looking for a nice, clean place to stay that is literally built on the beach and is in close proximity to the action then Seaspray is perfect.

Room Tip: Most rooms are not air conditioned - be sure to get a room that takes advantage of the breeze coming...

I loved the hotel. It's right next to Da Thacth restaurant which was awesome. You can just walk to the hotel, eat and drink as much as you want and it's done. The food was excellent and I loved the location.

Room Tip: No swimmimng pool nor fitness center, but it was right on the ocean.

They had one of the largest beach front areas. The room was nice. They even do the fancy towel swan thingy. Fresh flowers picked and in your room all over. Private hammock on our porch. It was very nice. We really enjoyed the D'Thatch restaurant that is right on site too. Great food there and the location of the hotel was perfect.

We stayed for 5 nights and were very happy with the Seaspray. The rates are incredibly inexpensive when you consider the hotel is right on the beach. We stayed in room #15 the first three nights. It was small but very clean. There are chairs on a shared porch outside the door that look out over the ocean. On our last two nights we moved to room #19 that I would highly recommend. It has a large private porch that includes a hammock and plenty of seating. We never used the fan in this room and relied on open windows to keep the room cool. I'm someone who is always warm and was very comfortable with the cross-breeze from the windows. The office staff was very friendly and helpful with any of our questions. We spoke with a number of other guests and were happy to hear that many have been coming back year after year to the Seaspray. The De Tatch restaurant next door is very good and you can get drinks there to bring out on the beach. The drinks are dirt cheap... we had a rum punch and bottle of Belkin beer for all of $4.50 US. The only complaint I would have is the internet access was not always working. But that's not a killer in my eyes and if anything kept us away from our phones and computers allowing us to just relax.

Room Tip: I would avoid the cabaña. Its located right next to the restaurant and smack-dab in the middle of t...

Placencia is awesome, no high rises, the most friendly people, very laid back and everything within walking distance. The Sea Spray is not fancy, but it is homey, they look after you, and you can walk to several great fun restaurants like the Bearfoot Bar, the Purple Space Monkey, De Tatch, and others.
We travelled to Belize from Akumal Mexico overnight on the ADO bus - OMG! If you can fly, do it! We felt like we had been dragged through a knothole backwards by the time we got there. Clearing several exit and entrance customs (and you do have to pay about 27 USD each to leave Mexico) plus numerous speed bumps and assorted potholes made us less than fresh when arrived in the Belize City bus depot. Another adventure! This is a sadly downmarket and poor area, with many folks trying to survive by "helping" you (aka running off with your luggage) to earn a tip. We are happy to help folks less fortunate than us, but it was a bit overwhelming.
The rest of Belize was great - we did four days at Rumors in San Ignacio, and five here at the Sea Spray. We will definitely be back to both locations, and we hear Tropic Air is now flying from Cancun to Belize City, so we will explore that.
Don't let our experience of the bus depot deter you, just be wary. And if you want more detail about ticket purchase etc message me.
